solder...

just a quick question. what kind of solder are you supposed to use when soldering up pups, electronics, etc.

are there different grades of metal or guage or anythin?

It needs to be lead multi core which has it's own flux. Or you can use lead free but that requires a much hotter iron.

It might also be labeled as 60/40 rosin core....do NOT get Acid core solder!

Edit- Acid core solder is used in pluming...and is not meant for electronic wiring

The best stuff is a eutectic blend 63/37. There is no pasty phase between the solid and liquid state. Less chance of a bad joint with that stuff.
