Question Best Burstbucker Configuration For An LP?

I am going to swap the pups in my WRLPC (original config: Neck-BB Pro, Bridge-57 Classic Plus) to Burstbuckers, but I can't decide which ones to put in. Can you guys tell me what would be the best config of BBs for an LP? I play mostly Grunge, Classic Rock, Blues and Jazz.

Before anyone replies, I am creating a poll for this thread and working off my iPhone, so I am a bit slow. Please be patient.

EDIT: The reason I'm swapping to BBs is because I feel I have too many guitars with 57 classics and feel I should have a tonal variety throughout all my guitars.

Re: Best Burstbucker Configuration For An LP?

just got a Joan Jett Melody Maker that has a BB3 .........its a bit hot,for my tastes.........i had a BB2 in the bridge and a BBPro in the neck of a Les Paul Classic Goldtop......i DID really like that configuration....not too hot,not under powered.......nice creamy tone all around with a Marshall Vintage Modern set to just a bit hairy-er than AC/DC tone.....roll the volume back a tad of the BB2 in the bridge.....crunchy,yet defined....dime the volume.....perfect for solos...

I thought the LPC came with 490R/498T combo. I really love those, I wish they would have come naked (no covers). If yours does not have them, thats what I would put in.

Already have them in my LP Supreme, and they are excellent pups for sure.

Re: Best Burstbucker Configuration For An LP?

the pros and the classic are very smiliar which I think the pro only being just slightly hotter. I had a pair of pros and kept the bridge. it needed mucho cap and pot changes to get it to my likings. I find it works best with 500/500 pots and .005 to .010 cap

as far as it in the neck i found it a little bassy so i went with a Phat cat

for you i say keep the pro on the bridge and go with either a 2 or 3 in the neck that should give you nice tonal range

the prob is the Pros arent wound to exact specs in comparison to each other. So i could have had one really underwound which gave me the bassiness and someone else can have one over wound and they wont sound alike at all

I´m hoping to get a 2nd hand Burstbucker 3 cheap and if i get it i´m gonna try it in the brigde of my Les Paul Standard which has the burstbucker pro´s currently neck and brigde and then i´m gonna try it with a Alnico 5 magnet to see the difference
