Re: What are your favorite pickups and why?
I have to admit I haven't tested enough pickups to compare properly.
However, I had 57 Classics in my 01 R9, I thought they were a great pickup. But I've changed them to Voodoo 59s, I really love these pickups. Both AL3, both 7.8, neck has the magnet flip. I had an old JB in my 74 Custom, I never could get my head around that pickup. I've since replaced it to it's back to 2 TTops. Great old pickups IMO. I play mostly classic rock stuff, bit of blues, I like some gain, but not so much as to suck the tone out of the guitar (I use an 84 JCM800) |
