Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Quote:
A quick story about that guitar. Frank made it back in 77. He wanted to make his version of a LP with woods that he picked out. He wanted the neck joint area to be more comfortable so he cut that upper area to able to get his hand all the way up the neck with ease. Well that guitar started as a Solid body back then. He kept it like that until the mid 80's when he suffered some back problems. He loved that guitar and keeping it his main guitar was no choice although it was heavy back then. He decided to make it a semi hollow. He routed out the back some and put a Mahogany cap on the back. That guitar plays great. Frank plays that guitar daily, has done so for many years. He also favors Guild Jazz Box's and ES-335's. Will

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Cool story! I understand his plight. . . I have an 11 lb Norlin era Les Paul (a Heritage 80) that's been killing my shoulder.
So, can you wind pickups to take a PRS SC245 into similar sonic territory? ![]() I'll give you a call. Terry. |

Re: WB 6707s!!!
It's scary to think that these are going to be the collectible pups of the future.........there will probably be bogus WB counterfeits all over ebay!

Re: WB 6707s!!!
Wow.... Thanks! I sure hope not. I do have all the 6707 pickup information with pics of each of the base plates numbers and signature on file for verification for the future.

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Yes I can make that SC245 sing like a bird should.LOL... I also just had the pleasure of playing one again this week. I am very impressed with the SC245's. Very well built and nice to play.

WB Reverend
Here is the e-mail that I sent to WB Pickups,
Hello WB Pickups, Just wanted to say that the Reverend pickup is beyond my expectation. I wanted a pickup that was a little hotter than the Gibson classic with more clarity to it and the Reverend did it and then some. The bass response on this pickup is hard to describe because I like it so much. Even at higher gain settings this pickup keeps the bass from getting muddy, it's there! On the higher end of things the Reverend was bright on my amp that was set for the Gibson classic but that's what those nobs are for on your amp and with a couple turns I had it dialed in. Once again I didn't know that somebody could build a pickup that had this type of gain without mud lows or those sizzle highs that I here in so many pickups. Am I gushing, you bet! Here is what I posted in a another forum, Got the Reverend yesterday, installed it, played a gig with it that night. WOW! I was a little gutsy going out and performing live with this new pup but I adjusted my amp to this pup and all I can say is, thank you Will Boggs. First thing I noticed was the clarity of the tone range from bass to treble, especially the high strings. They jump out at you. This pup on purpose is hotter than a classic and the low end is so much better. No mud of course. The CTS pots I put in even reacted differently to this pup.The roll off taper is more consistent instead of a sudden drop at around eight. Love it. I could go on but I would say that WB have the pup your looking for. As soon as I get some other needed things I will be changing out my neck pickup and you can bet that it will be a WB pickup. Thanks again Will.

WB Custom Pickups In Oct. Premier Guitar Magazine
Just found out that WB Pickups are in the new issue of Premier Guitar Magazine. They contacted Will for an article regarding the Custom Tuned program and our other pickups line. It will be on page 24. in the magazine which will be on the stands before the 19th of this month.. Below is a link to the article. There is a couple of other magazine articles on WB Pickups that will include gear reviews of our pickups. Those will be coming soon too.
It's been pretty exciting around here to say the least. I want to thank everyone who we've become friends with and has supported & believed in us through thick and thin. Our customers have been the best of the best and we thank you.... ![]() http://magazine.premierguitar.com/Ma...007/Oct/24.pdf Laura |

Nice bit of editorial and it's better for business than advertising. Expect things to take off....

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
That was something Will kept saying. That these are so much like the good old pickups of yesterday.. Able to be sweet but at the same time growl when needed. I hear him say that a lot about the 6707's. He's out of town until this afternoon but I can wait for him to hear your new song when he gets back.

Re: WB Custom Pickups In Oct. Premier Guitar Magazine
Just got back from a long road trip and was pleasantly surprised to see this article. It was definitely nice to have them call you unsolicited and want to do a story and then someone from there actually order some pups. We have a few other cool articles and reviews coming up too. Don't know when but I have had some interviews with a couple of others and requested pickups to do review. To say that I am extremely proud is an understatement. I love what I do. Like Laura stated above, I thank all of our friends, customers who has been so supportive.
Will

Re: WB Reverend
Guys I ordered a set of reverends yesterday, and I must say that talking to Will was great, If you havent talked to him I'll tell u hes great, being a dinosaur or just flat ass lazy I never change out pups anymore, but the kid in me couldnt resist. I cant wait to test them out. Who knows maybe I'll step out on a limb and order some JW winds
bet those would be some big sellers, but guys Will is a class act all the way. Weve got a great cat here.JW |

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Okay,I tried something different tonight---played the 67-07s through a small Vox amp. These pickups need a bit in their mouth to control the harmonics! The playing is poop but you can hear that warm mid bark.
