Refin: I hear you there, everything I've posted other forum "jam zones" has been a sticker T neck or middle combined with an old modded Dimarzio DiMeola and it would be tough to replace......but what the heck it can always go back in!

There's no telling what pups were in that V--it's one of the older set neck Epis, and the body has NO tone (cheap wood). It may have been anything,as I tried Duncan,DiMarzio,Epiphone, and Gibson.

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Thanks for the reply refin : sounds good any which way I listen to those clips as with all of yours, IMO the player makes up the biggest part of the tone chain. But each has to find what works best for themselves.

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Refin. . . are most/all of your clips done using the bridge pickup? If so, when your amp is EQ'd for a nice bridge tone how does the neck PU sound (i.e. how balanced do you find the pickups)?

Here's some video clips of the 67's done with the same setting on one amp showing the balance of the 2. What is crazy is these clips were done with a Digital Sony Camera that does just some quick vid clips. I can tell you that I am excited to hear more clips from refin.. Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Frank has that "tone thing" going on in his fingers, heart, and soul.......the WB pickups only make his talent clearer and more inspired. All I can say is that the same grins and giggles that Frank exhibits in the videos,I share.
It's the same with Tiger Woods....his talent would shine through any set of clubs, but he knows what speaks to him.The 67-07s have inspired me to reach beyond my "comfort/play it safe" world and desire to practice to be half of what I hear in my favorite players.

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
Steve, Frank has told me those same words on a few occasions. He is another person that I feel is just a joy to know. When Frank plays with his orchestra band. It is such a kick to watch. The emotions he showcases when he plays are just as entertaining sometimes as the notes he holding.. He's another person that I feel lucky to call a friend....

Re: WB 67-07 VTP Soundclip
"Alive" is the word that comes to mind when I think of the videos, and Frank's playing. He's quite a joy to watch, and he definitely has "the touch"!
Is the guitar that he's playing hollowed out? Terry. |
