Re: dimarzio 500k pots?
Dimarzio's pots are excellent quality. I got a bunch a few years back and they turn very smoothly and easily, (not too easily) and more importantly, the taper is great for guitar. It rolls volume or tone off smoothly, letting you dial in your exact tone. They're also incredibly well made pots and have brass shafts, (they don't look like CTS to me, though.) Compared to a stock Fender or Gibson pot, (or anything at a guitar shop,) Dimarzio's pots are definitely the way to go.
That said, I absolutely love the RS Guitar Works super pots. They cost a little bit more, but to me, (and many others,) they're worth it. They have the best taper of any pot I've ever tried, and are the best made pots you'll ever find. They're only for your volume knobs, so you don't need to buy 4 of them. They let you dial in your volume with great precision, and don't lose treble when turned down. Sometimes you can get them on sale for $7, which is about the same as the Dimarzios. If you use your controls a lot, the RS stuff should be in your guitar. Actually I think they're on sale right now: RSGuitarworks - RS Guitarworks Online Store I don't work for or get any kind of compensation from RS, I just love their products and they're a great bunch of people. If don't use the controls as much, or are on a strict budget, the Dimarzio's are still great. * I actually have a Dimarzio pot for tone, and a RS Guitarworks pot for volume on a Tele, and it's a great combination I'd heartily recommend.
