ShedPickups

Shed Pickups

About Us
Thank you for taking the time to visit ShedPickups, you might be thinking "Why ShedPickups"?

Perhaps you need to ask yourself, "Do I want serious tone"?

Look no further because our pickups are the solution.
We believe that our pickups provide the Holy Grail of tone. You don't need to guess what they'll do for your guitar because I'll tell you and they'll speak for themselves, we're so confident you can listen to them online, we'll let you compare them to the competion.
RELICS
They also make a range of Relic pickups that look like they came off a well gigged vintage guitar. The relic process is a closely guarded secret and can be time consuming to achieve but the end result is a pickup that looks 30 years old.

LAP STEEL gremlins?
Contact Me - I may be able to help.

REWIND SERVICE
Rewinds are available for most types of pickup with a fast return service, contact us to arrange this

WAX POTTING
Available to tame those squealing monsters.

Their Relic Series Pickups are made with the closest reproduction parts we can source or manufacture ourselves. The attention to detail in the appearance and construction is second to none. But here's the bonus....we get the right tone too. Anyone can make a pickup scratched and dirty. Don't pay for someone else's dirt. It doesn't look real anyway and they usually sound pretty unremarkable.

They have spent hundreds of hours
analysing real vintage pickups and
sourcing the original materials used.

No one else goes to the lengths we do
to get the tone right as well as the
look.

Our aging techniques are absolutely
unparalleled by anyone else and
absolutely a guarded secret.

You can't create 30 to 50 years of
aging in a few minutes and we age
everything including the magnets.

The only true PAF humbucker metering out at 7.9 K Ohms (neck) and 8.5 K Ohms (bridge)with special rough cast A4 magnet, NOS wire wrapped in paper tape, bullseye slugs, genuine repro Gibson hookup, aged nickel or gold screws and covers.

Re: ShedPickups

Our tribute to the Peter Green tone. We really do know what happened with that neck pickup and here we've recreated that pickup and combined it with our relic series PAF bridge pickup. No one else has captured this tone. You're gonna love this set! Oh

Spence is a cool guy.

He always helped me out on the winders forum when I started winding.

Re: ShedPickups

A new site is in progress but I'd be interested to hear what issues you have with the current one so that I can stop that happening in future. For example, why do you find it hard to navigate?

the only problem seems to be a different set up on your pickup page..usually most sites have similar pictures of pickups and the price to the right or something..on your site, the pics vary and the prices are sorta stuck on the top..and my prices are in Euro's..where are you located..??

I am in the UK. Prices should display in Pounds Sterling not Euros.

Re: ShedPickups

I agree, adopt a more classic, menu, Humbuckers/singlecoils, then model of humbuckers +pic+spec+price page... I think that way is better

Re: ShedPickups

What they said about Shed.....
"My worries about those overwound pickups were quickly dispelled. Turned up full the bridge sounds extremely fat, solid and raunchy, combining that pinched Fender quack with a slightly throaty low midrange and power you might associate with a humbucker or a P90. There is incredible harmonic complexity with bite and clarity, and if you back off the volume a smidge, the sound reverts to the trademark twang that most of us associate with a Telecaster...." Re: ShedPickups

This is a recent email from Huw Price of Guitar & Bass magazine regarding a PAF I made for a single pickup Gold Top made by Dave Dearnaley Guitars Ltd.

"Hi Spence

I just tried Dave's LP and I just wanted to let you know that it has the best sounding PAF I have ever heard. Really clear top end, almost a chorusy effect, perfect microphonic bite and great tone at every setting on the volume control. No muddiness whatsoever. I can't really imagine how it could be improved. I'll look forward to hearing one in the neck position soon!

Huw"

I'll be making some of these for the Tesla Coil Pickup auction.

Re: ShedPickups

I have suggested to Bobbo that you guys should pool the charity pickups and get someone to install them all and do sound samples for the potential bidders.

Re: ShedPickups

Well, I suggetsted to Bobbo that maybe all the pickups pooled together could be installed in a guitar and recorded. This would add a little extra info for the potential bidder at auction.
