Please lets not confuse me with a guitar.

Re: "Over The Pond Guy" PAFs

Only seems like yesterday that Alien Sex Fiend, Bauhaus, U2 and Echo and the Bunnymen were the only bands really worth going to see. Some seem to have fared better than others, but ASF were GREAT!!! Oh yeah, The Waterboys were pretty amazing too. We had obscure American bands like REM and Sonic Youth, but they were never going to make it big

Happy days...

Hey Bobbo, You should take a picture of the ones you have for sale in stock so we can see the different sets. In my opinion they seem to be some what inconsistent, which I think is AWESOME, so it could be kind of cool to see some different sets! Just puttin it out there

Re: "Over The Pond Guy" PAFs

OK ... I finally got some soundclips uploaded for the Over the Pond Guy PAF's !!!! This first one is a tweed Fender Bassman with the tone controls flat and very clean !!! I would suggest playing the LoFi version !!!

Re: "Over The Pond Guy" PAFs

This demo is the OTP PAF's thru a Marshall 18 watt with tone set flat but with a bit more gain than the Bassman demo !!! These were done by a session player in the UK not by me ... I'm not sure why but the HiFi versions seem to have a warble to them , I suggest playing the LoFi clip !

Re: "Over The Pond Guy" PAFs

This OTPG PAF demo was done thru an old Fender Deluxe reverb again with tones set flat and using very little gain , Also at the end of the clip at about 2:30 There is a little reverb added ... These clips are OK but I'm not sure if they really capture the magic in these pickups !!! But people have been so eager to hear clips that I'm putting these up so you guys have something to go by !!! Go LoFi ...

What a disreputable bunch they are ......

What amazes me is the number of people who say disgusting things over on TLP forum not even realising they are talking about someone who is a member over there. These are people are cursing out MLP forum members who dares to question the Leesona Club directives. Absolutely no alternative to their views is tolerated and when they've run out of people to abuse they then turn to this sort of thing :

Re: ThroBak Flavor of the Decade

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hate to break the news, but now there is a new flavor of the month. Seems the OTP (over the pond guy)'s got competition from somebody on his side of the pond. They are known as "OTR" gal's. Few have gotten thru "the friend zone", so you got go thru some girl at the MLPF that calls herself "Bimbo" the clown. "OTR"'s or "On the rag gal" pickups are great for anything from blues to ragtime, and anything in-between if you don't mind a bit of sloppiness. They are given the best relic job you ever saw too. To specify you want relic, just ask alot of questions about winding method, machines used, origin of matrials, etc. These questions (during here time of the month) makes her just go ballistic throwing, scratching, swinging them around by the lead wires.. The stickers say "Padding Applied For"

Waiting list? A big batch goes out about once a month!

I thought that kind of thing got people banned over there. Obviuosly you can be as foul as you like.

Well the person who wrote that post seems to have a very low opinion of female winders and women in general, Maybe he has some sort of abandonment issues with mother? I hope he can resolve his problems with counseling or maybe he just needs a hug. In time the love of a good woman could open his eyes and enable him to see his words are akin to that of a school boy trying to impress his friends, but alas i think it maybe too late for the poor soul.

Well you do wear a lot of foundation and support a nice wig,... An easy mistake if you don't spot an Adams apple.

I think we should all arrange a group hug for him. If anyone asks questions, we can claim to be playing rugby.
It is kind of an odd opinion especially when you consider that most of the winders in the 50's and 60's were women

Re: "Over The Pond Guy" PAFs

I always get a kick out odf people like this, usually they are the ones that cant play a lick but have to keep their male ego as high on a pedistal as can be. The only thing alot of people can do is talk a good story, and if ya dont believe it WTF its their story and they believe it. I'm always hearing claims of I can smell this or that or I can feel with my fingers that this is such and such.......I can wave my hands across the wood and tell you its old wood, and I grew the forest from which it came, blah blah blah, its always humorus to watch people belittle someone because thay cant do what the one making the shit can do. I'll be my own expert on things anymore, why? Because I have the all powerfull visions, I know everything there is to know, all ya got to do is ask me.

Why not go over the pond in a shed? Found this video of Spence in his multi-purpose shed!
