The Guitar in question is a Les Paul Studio Vintage Mahogany purchased new, so I'm guessing I have the BurstBucker Pros in it now. So here is what I'm looking for:
Neck pickup: It's perfect. I am absolutely FLOORED but the sounds I get from the neck. Playing witht he volume and tone gets me a huge array of possibilities. Kudos to you Gibson Both Pickups: Very Pleased. I like to leave both pickups on when I playmost rhythms and some solos so I can vary the attack and brightness just by strumming closer or further from the bridge. Works great in this Les Paul Bridge Pickup: Fired. Just doesn't do it for me. I have to cut way back on the tone knob to take out some of the honk and then I lose harmonics. It's very similar to the bright nasally tone of the Jeff Beck pickup, and I def. ain't diggin' it. ![]() I've used the DiMarzio Norton in both neck and bridge positions with great results. I'm just not sure if it would balance well with the stock neck pickup. Was also considering the Breed Bridge but that's got an even higher output. Does anyone know the specs for these (stock pups) as far as output goes so I have a reference to go with. |

Re: Need a pickup, suggestions please
I put a set of WB Vintage Hots and RS pots w/ Jensen caps in my VM and it sounds GREAT!
