Classic 57 and Burstbucker Pro
I want to change my pickups and ive been looking at the classic 57 and the burstbucker pro. i was thinking of putting a classic 57 in the neck position and a burstbucker pro in the bridge position. Is this a good Combo? i play classic rock, blues, and jazz.

Re: Classic 57 and Burstbucker Pro
I have Classic 57's in my 339 and Seth Lovers in my LP. I think they are both great and I play blues, Classic rock type stuff.

Re: Classic 57 and Burstbucker Pro
I just put in a Burstbucker 3 in the Bridge and a 57 Classic in the Neck of my Les Paul Standard, loveeeee the tone I get from it now.

Not intending to be critical, but I always wonder why the general trend is to put a mellow type pup in what is already a mellow location (neck) and an inherently edgey pup in the inherently brighter position (bridge). Thankyou |

I think it's not more frowned upon because a lot of players don't use both p'ups all the time, but only one. Or, if somebody do and rave about it, I can only come to the conclusion that he/she just doenn't have ears for tone. And if you consider that most are not able to tune the instrument without a tuner and a whole lot of them pay somebody to change the strings, I just can't say I'm surprised... EDIT: more than a third of my income as a guitar tech come from simply changing strings, so I kinda know what I'm talking about here. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! ![]() HTH,
