Re: NPD something rodential...
The donor wood:
![]() ![]() My camera saturated the red a bit. It's really not a clownburst. My 2009 Hamer Studio. It came with Duncan '59s in it, which aren't bad, but these should be better! The sound clips I got tell me so...

Re: NPD something rodential...
Finally, someone gave it a try! Subscribed and awaiting for full and proper review... Soundclips wouldn't mind us, not at all...

Mouse clearly has some serious skills and I thought I would give him a try. His Lemondrop LP he built sings with pups like these in it. He is a man of his word as his communications were open and he shipped them quickly and very reasonably. The pups sure look the part. I'll post measurements later as I'm not with the guitar right now. I wasn't looking for full on vintage looks so much as more of that sound. The clips he posted recently on his thread were these. I'm STOKED!

Re: NPD something rodential...
FWIW the DC resistance on the neck pup is 7.26K and the bridge is 8.23K at the current temp in my room. These should balance well together. We'll listen later after I get them wired.

Re: NPD something rodential...
First impressions:
The quack and chirp are there in spades. The bridge has a nice honk and blends well with the neck. I tweaked them into height rather quickly and they aren't too height sensitive. They seem to have a fairly broad sweet spot. The neck is nice and not too thick. Great bluesy tones here. They handle gain very well and sound great through a Mesa cranked up a bit. They sound good through my Egnater Rebel 30 as well. A good friend of mine who sold me the guitar tried it out and had a hard time putting it down. He noticed the magnet response and really likes them. He had a big smile on his face and commented that they really woke the guitar up. I have a master tone with a PIO to the switch in a '50s style circuit. The roll off is sweet with warming to woman tone. I may experiment with cap to get the ideal frequency response. It does have to be a compromise though as there is only the one. The tones are vintage like and I find them very pleasing. These were what I was after. I'll get some sort of sound clips up at a later date and update with further impressions as they settle in and I get more familiar with them.

Re: NPD something rodential...
Update:
I still have yet to get the camera on and record these. My area for this is in shambles due to renovation... I still have them in the guitar and they will stay there. They are just what I ordered, A2 neck and A4 bridge with somewhat unbalanced coils with no potting. He had some good wire and appropriate parts. They have had plenty of time to settle in but I have not played them as much as I would like yet as I had an injury to my fretting hand that is now healing well so I can play again. They do sound stellar and if you are on the fence about Mouse, give him a shot! His prices are very reasonable and his communication is excellent. He delivers on his word and the turn around time is very reasonable. He nailed my order on the first try, but I knew what I wanted and he had the goods. Just ask him if he can produce what you desire.
