Re: Stickered T-Tops Clip

Wow,thanks B..........I thought the playing was uninspiring and sloppy, but the tone seemed dialed in.
I've had these T-Tops in my old conversion '57 too,and they sounded great.I think they sound better in this pancake body Norlin, which has a very immediate presence on the notes, and has nice top end clarity.

Re: Stickered T-Tops Clip

Thats great playing and great tone..Not real familiar with what I expect are various iterations but im getting the idea T-Tops are under appreciated pickups! From what I gather they dont bring anywhere PAF $$ but those sound killer!

Re: Stickered T-Tops Clip

I've got some T-tops in my '76 LP Custom...the sound pretty good, but nothing like my **** equipped Historics.

Honest though...I thought your playing was outstanding.

Re: Stickered T-Tops Clip

Thanks,guys.............I traded a Fender tremelo arm for these about 10 years ago.

They have a VERY unique tone, warm with a sting----never heard anything else like them. When I first started buying Gibsons (around'72) I was always in love with the stock pups.

500 or 300K pots? Mine still has stock pots and POS caps in it.

Re: Stickered T-Tops Clip

I'll have to check-----this is a '70s natural top Deluxe that was routed out when I got it in '79 (or close to that date).

Re: Stickered T-Tops Clip

I've got some T-tops in my Custom. I like the tone. They aren't as sweet as PAFs, but they don't cost near a PAF either.

Some tasty tone in the clip, Refin. Where in the Panhandle? I used to live near the Mouse's house.

Refin, always so modest. Most of us would love to play that sloppy. Great tone and as usual, incredible chops. T-tops are not to be overlooked apparently.
