AAAARG! lol
ok so at my last gig I thought my ES 135 sounded pretty good but my buddy that is a producer didnt like the sound that much...well in the next rehearsal my band had I noticed I couldn't get a good clean sound out of it....it was very boomy and honky.. ( Fralin P90's ) then all the sudden nothing. no output at all it would go in and out. if I tapped the (bridge) pickup ( the one I use mainly) it would come back on...and off and on. I called fralin and they said it must be a short. I wonder if it has always been there? I have liked these pickups a lot and I did notice a decrease in tone but that happened the same time my amp blew a power tube...
Anyway Fralin is going to fix it for free woohoo! I just wonder if its always had a problem and how much better it will sound when I get it back. I am also going to try to wire it in true 50's wiring...but I am going to have to attach a wire to one end of the cap so it will reach the tone pot.anyone think this will be a problem? I figured I would shrink wrap the connection so it doesn't make contact to the grounds.
