Re: Gibson Angus Young and Iommi Pickups

Do you happen to have the model # of the Angus'? I have an Epi SG Standard in pure black and I would love to throw those in. I idolize Angus when it comes to Classic Rock sound and just can't afford the 4k Angus Young Gibson. Hehe.

Re: Gibson Angus Young and Iommi Pickups

I believe those pickups are goosed way up above 10K,not really wound for old school blues tone (which gets a lot of attention). One of my students has an Angus SG,and it uses a '57 Classic in the front (maybe a Classic plus) and the Angus in the bridge, and it doesn't sound too bad for blues, but great for hard rock.

I've played the Iommi's a bit. I didn't notice that much differnece from from the 490/498 or whatever that are in SG standards. A bit more bit, but nothing that amp/eq setting can't make up for. Good pickups though, I'm just no sure that are as powerful as they are advertised as.
