HELP installing EMGs on Gibson LP Gothic

Hi!

I just bought a emg zakk wylde set to install on my gibson Les Paul Gothic but the diagrams that are at the instalations notes don't answer all my questions or doubts. Here is a picture of the back of my guitar for better understanding.

My biggest problem is to know what to do to the 1 and 6 wires. The 1º comes from the 3 way cable switch but is not actually connected to the switch himself so what to do with him? the 6º is a strong wire that comes from the body (wood) and is soldered to the neck volume pot. Do I need to connect him the same way?

Other problem is to know from the two wires in the center (3 and 4) is the ground one.

Hope you can help me,

Cheers

Re: HELP installing EMGs on Gibson LP Gothic

Is it possible for anyone to post a picture of the back of a gibson with emg's installed?
I really appreciated.

Thank you

Re: HELP installing EMGs on Gibson LP Gothic

Sorry, no EMG loaded Gibby's here, but I've installed them in a few guitars, the diagrams they give you are pretty straightforward.

Your #6 wire is a string ground and is not needed with EMG's, however don't pull it out of the body just in case you want to go back to passives. Your #1 looks like a ground as does the #3. #4 is the output from the switch.

Thanks for your reply, my only issue is about #1, if I need to connect him anywhere.

Thanks
