My old vintage pedal still works!!!

So I've had this old Foxx Fuzz & Wa & Volume pedal since 1982 when I was 13.

My dad bought it for me for $10 from High Country Music in Colorado Springs.

It was my only pedal back then and I used it like a distortion. I didn't know the difference between fuzz and distortion back then. It was all the same to me lol.

A friend of mine had it for a long time and finally gave it back to me a few years ago saying it didn't work anymore. I thought nothing of it and it's been in storage for the last 5 years.

I finally dug it out of the garage yesterday thinking I was going to look into sending it somewhere to get it restored to fully operational....... and when I tested it out...... I found it works almost perfectly.

The wa/volume pot needs sprayed out with contact cleaner or replaced but it's functional.

I'm not a connoisseur of fuzz sounds so I'm not sure if it's a great fuzz pedal or not.

I'll have to put up a clip later tonight when I get off work... and see what everyone thinks.

Re: My old vintage pedal still works!!!

I'm definitely going to do some sound clips tonight after work.

I'm really wanting some opinions on how this sounds cause, like I said, I'm not a connoisseur of fuzz tones.

I don't know if it's a good fuzz tone or not LOL!

It has that flubby sound on the low notes and kinda raspy but smooth overall tone to it.

The wah is definitely GREAT! And there's 3 different modes for it.

Also...... the toggle switch by the input switches between regular and octavia type fuzz tones.

If you decide not to keep it and use it yourself, it's definitely a collectible pedal. You might want to get it appraised or at least keep an eye out for other vintage Foxx pedals being sold. A quick Ebay search turns up the following:

Very cool pedal from 75'! It it's current condition, you should still be able to get over $100. I would hang onto it!

That's the coolest thing I've ever heard man! Nice sounds. I just looked to see if there were any on Ebarf and there is one with a starting bid of $240. You gotta keep that thing dude.

Re: My old vintage pedal still works!!!

Yeah I never plan on parting with it. It's got extreme sentimental value. I'm 42 and I've had this thing since I was 13!

I do need to get it worked on to where it's in 100% perfect working order.

But I think, as is, it will be great for recording some wacky vintage fuzz tones.

Hey thanks! I just sent him a message about possibly working on this pedal.

And he's not too far from me. He's only a state over! Cool!
