Stomp underfoot violet muff

I just received mine today and have only played it for a few minutes without any adjustments or plugging in my other gear.

HOLY FKN hell, this thing rips. I had a black and yellow muff and I hated it. This thing is full and gets you that chainsaw sort of buzzz with a boat loads of sustain and power. I am completely floored at the quality of the paint and the assembly every bit as good as the inside of my wampler pedals (which I have raved about endlessly) and the price and service from Matt has been absolutely awesome. I cant wait to get home and really mess with it. It is definitely Gilmour wall album era in a box, without a doubt. This pedal is worth every red cent and for $140 you cant go wrong, if you are going for this kind of sound.

I dont even have high output pups and the thing rings on forever, and my amp was down low and no boost or anything else. I have cs 69's and ssl5 coming in sometime this week for my strat, I can hardly wait.

Re: Stomp underfoot violet muff

So I spent some quality time with this thing last night and this thing is ridiculous. Very hard to demo something in my bedroom especially with the amount of power it takes for this thing to smooth out. What I did after messing with it is this:

Guitar<comp<creamtone<muff<mxr 108< echo<amp

I set the comp (as I always do) to be passive on the level and then dialed in a very mild OD with the cream tone. I then set the dials on the muff at noon and kicked it on. It about parted my hair back, I then added some gain out of the 108 and adjusted the eq to smooth it out (I had bee using my tele and now I was using my strat) dialed up the volume to about 4 on my super reverb. In the close quarters I could only turn my guitar volume up to about 50% and it had enough hair to sit and sustain as if everything was dimed. I cannot believe how cool this thing is. It is quiet (as quiet as you are going to get out of high gain pedal) smooth and the knobs are very responsive. It definitely sounds better having it boosted in front as well as post this really seems to smooth it out. It appears to have plenty of grit I havent turned the sustain knob past noon, and I rolled it off a bit from there.

I am blown away by the overall volume boost with this thing, I really dont even know why it pushes so hard, but it does. For all you muff guys out there, you are doing yourself a disservice by not having one of these. I listened to GMD's clip of the original rams head, this thing sounds just like it and seems to have more tone sweep and quieter. Check em out

Matt does not screw around when building fuzzes. All great stuff.
