IPS DECIMATOR????anyone use one

I have a lot of mains hum through my pedal board, with just the guitar conected there is very little noise but connect the pedals....(A treble booster, wah wah, overdrive and a phase 90)......the mains hum gets amplified, turn the pedals off noise ok but the more I turn on the worst it gets. I was thinking of the Decimator but does it suck tone? and would it be a worth while investment (about £160)..........Thanks in advance......

I prefer the MXR Smart Gate to the ISP Decimator, because the ISP does suck a bit of tone because it isn't true bypass, whereas the MXR is true bypass.

What power supply are you using instead of batteries? It sounds like thats your issue.

You might try a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power. That made a big difference on my board when I upgraded from a 1-spot.

Re: IPS DECIMATOR????anyone use one

I had an ISP and I liked it, but as stated above when I redid my board I invested in a Power Plus2 and it really cleaned things up. Also by using my EQ and LPB to shape my tone I've learned to use less gain than I used to. The cool thing I liked about the ISP products is that it has what I would call a "smart gate"(?). It doesn't chop off right away, if you hit a chord it lets it trail off until the sustain is dead then kicks in. No exp. with the MXR but the Boss NS2 chops it right off and so does the Hush units. Best thing to do is go to the shop and try as many as you can.
