Dunlop Zakk wah?

Any1 have it>? Whats it like, I hear the 'sweet spot' is pritty small on it and it has alota low range? Easy to use?

I'm using a Dime wah at the moment but it doesen't work as well with my LPs than it did on my strats and honestly I want a wah without knobs to play around with, lol. If no one's tired a Zakk wah, dya have any settings for a Dime wah (using LPs), its pritty similar to a Crybaby Q. Or amp settings that work better with wah, etc.

You know what I mean.

Re: Dunlop Zakk wah?

I tried both the Zakk and Dime wahs at GC, but wasn't impressed. I have a regular crybaby, but they're built like crap (IMO).

My RP350 has a good wah built in.. it's digital (and all these new pedals I'm buying are analog), but good enough for now!

I guess its all to do with what you're after in a wah pedal... I really dig the Zakk Dunlop wah, have been using it couple of years now and I love it... It does have a wide range including alot of lows but it allows for more diverse wah usage you just can't get with a regular wah... you just need to get accustomed to it as it does play different but once who got that nailed, its happy days...

Re: Dunlop Zakk wah?

I really dug the Dime wah. Great design, with lots of tone options. There are even trim pots inside for more adjustments.

I find the Zakk wah to be really fake sounding, like a synthesized wah, not an analog circuit. I didn't like it at all. I love the finish on it, but not the sound.

The Slash wah with fazel sounds great, but the built in distortion sucks.

The best wah Dunlop ever made was the JH-1, in my opinion.

Re: Dunlop Zakk wah?

The day I bought my Les Paul, I got a deal, and only spent half of the $3k I had alloted to the purchase. I went wandering around the store as they were setting up my guitar, wondering what I could get that would go good with a Les Paul. A crybaby seemed an obvious choice.

I tried all of the crybaby's they had, and ended up going with the Dime. The only other crybaby I had ever had before that sucked beyond sucking. This one sounded 1000% better. There are some amp settings that I come across that make it less effective, but I'm really happy with it overall. My friends all thought it was so cool, a few of them went out and bought one too.

Granted my experience with them does not run deep, but I know when they suck, they blow, and when they're good, it's golden...

Re: Dunlop Zakk wah?

The Classic 'Q' with Fasel is pretty nice, but if you can get your hands on an older JH-1, they are GREAT. Zakk used those until he got his sig wah made.

I play LP Special VOS with P-90s, and it loves the Crybaby Classic.

Sorry, Tarzan got hold of my keyboard there for a moment. Meant to say that I play "a" LP Special VOS with P-90s.
