It's not a bad pedal !!! As a matter of fact it's quite nice ... But it's only a low to moderate OD and I have all that ground covered with my Klon ... I just need something with more cahones !!!

So are you able to tell after testing what all that big deal about the Timmy was in the first place?

I'm not sure I can explain what al the hype is about , But it's a very transparent OD pedal that let's your amps tone come through , I just found it a bit farty in the low end along with my Marshall JCM800 ... I got the Timmy looking for a good rythmn tone with a little extra hair but my Klon does it so much better that it was redundant to keep the Timmy !!! I know the Timmy is supposed to be a low to medium gain OD but it just didn't have enough grind and a bit too much sizzle for my ears !!!

Ah... I see... So it didn't give you anything new that you didn't already have...

how transparent is transparent? have you tried the TS808HW?

Re: Just Got on the TIMMY List !!!

Bobbo,

You might do well to look into the Keeler Designs - Push Pedal or its more aggressive brother Shove. Both are incredible boutique pedals. Push is a med to high gain pedal and is very Marshallesque - not metal by any stretch but a great rythm pedal. Shove on the other hand can delve into the metal arena, if thats your bag.

Bobbo, try the Barber Direct Drive and your search will be over. It's got balls. It picks up where my Timmy and Barber LTD leave off.

If they got me the tone of the intro to this video, I'd be sold.

Personally.. I wasn't tremendously knocked out with them..

Re: Just Got on the TIMMY List !!!

I just got on the Timmy list. I am in no hurry as I use a MJM Blues Devil (tubescreamer) now and have been happy with that for the last 3 years. I just want to try some different things for my "always on" mild od pedal.

The Timmy is only $129 shipped if you don't mind waiting. He said I'd have it in Feb!!!! That's like when I was a kid and when I ordered something from a catalog it was 6-8 weeks for delivery.....only twice that, wow!

Sounds like you had a bad experience in which your expectations were not met bobbo.

I don't think I'm going to start generalizing all "cottage industry" types as being unable to keep their deadlines as you are suggesting based on your experience with the Timmy guy.

If the Timmy takes 8 months rather than 4, I'll be bummed....but there is no reason to start bumming now. He said to call him anytime for an update. I'll call him in 3 months and see if hes still on time or not.

So Bobbo, what OD's next on your list to try n' get that sizzle that will singe your nut sack hairs off?

What have you tried and discarded over the years in the OD category?

Tried the Maxon OD820? It's next on my list to try if I can find one in stock.

Maybe the OCD v.4 run @ 18v?

A little more than your standard OD but I thought this sounded great.
