How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
I've got one, A Crybaby Wah that is never used. What does everyone else have? Are you big into effects, or do just have that trusty one or two pedals. Or are you a straight into the amp kind of purist?
Share.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
12 besides the tuner.... Most of them are different gain flavors and amp in a box pedals to get me the different distortion tones I need. Also use a compressor, phaser, and a delay.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
Most times I just plug in 1 pedal, if any at all. Maestro Fuzz or Zvex Distortron most often these days. Lot's of times I never end up stepping on it.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
My current setting :
Guitar -> Wah (Dunlop) -> Tuner (Boss TU-3) -> Equalizer (Boss GE-7) -> Compressor (MXR Dynacomp) -> Overdrive (TS-9) -> Overdrive (Boss BD-2) -> Amp I can change the second overdrive with SD-1 (depends on situation) , but the other pedals are fixed in my board. and oh yeah.... I can't live without my compressor pedal... it is a MUST ...

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
I own a variety of effect pedals, and continue to collect more....I'll stop when I reach 100 or so pedals....Sometimes I use none, sometimes one, sometimes more, depending on the recording I'm working on....

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
Tuner > Modded GCB-95 > Modded Boss CS-3 > Swollen Pickle > TS-808 > Modded TS9DX > Hardwire TL-2 > Box Of Rock > Fulldrive 2 MOSFET > MXR 10 band > Boss GE-7 > G-String > Boss PS-5 > Boss DD-7 > MXR EVH Phase 90 > VS Liquid Chorus > Nova Delay (Added an external preset switch) > VS Volume Pedal > AC30
Answer: 18 pedals. The Swollen Pickle gets swapped out with my latest build quite often though. I mostly just jam with friends and focus mainly on rhythm so I like to have a lot of options. |

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
Hm... not as many as I would like to have. Currently I'm down to:
Wah => Fuzz/Distortion => Distortion => Delay What I have in mind, for a complete pedalboard, is: Wah => Compression => Overdrive => Fuzz/Distortion => Distortion => heavier distortion => Delay => modulation (of all sorts) I'm slowly getting there... |

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
The poll options didn't suit me at all. This is what I use:
[one of three fuzzes] -> od1 -> od2 -> boost -> od3 -> chorus -> delay Looking for a bigger board so I can have all three fuzzes on there, as well as another delay and the Strymon Flint. Also need to add a volume pedal and a tuner. I have no illusions that it will stop there, but that will get me >95% of the sounds I want.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
I run about 9 pedals and a tuner. They consist of 2 overdrives and a fuzz, vibe, trem, delay and boost, phase, wah. I use pedals to get me as close as possible to a song i'm doing a cover of and my boost is on most of the time. The poll didn't really cover my choices but it all depends on what effects are used in the songs i'm covering and i buy my pedals accordingly.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
i don't know which one to click, as i have aspects of two or three of them and there isn't an "all of them EVER" option.
my chain is guitar > wah > volume > [the rest of these are in this order but in a girig pro14 switching system, so different variations of them can be switched on/off] > tuner in aux out > Wampler Triple Wreck > boss BD-2(modded) > EH Freeze > Boss BF-2 > Boss PH-2> TC Alter ego > Strymon El Capistan > Boss RT-20 > amp. and no, i don't need to see a therapist as the first step is admitting you have a problem and i'm nowhere near that yet

I have a shitload of pedals I goof around with at home but, on the board I use with my band, there are five besides my tuner:
treble booster vibe flanger delay overdrive/boost |

I've become a pedal whore. I'm truly addicted. I lost count. Never bought a tuner pedal. I use a Snark.
I'm still trying to find my way.

One--Hardwire Tube Overdrive. All I need. Everything else I get from the amp and the guitar.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
It seems I have two of everything--dirt, modulation, delay.
Also, I have ONE compressor and a wah. Dirt and ambient delay are integral to my sound, so I could do major de-population on my board and not really miss all that much. |

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
I have tuner - compressor - overdrive - tremolo - delay - reverb on each board.
I use the trem and delay sparingly. I own over 60 pedals but I like to try and collect pedals.....I've been doing so for 20+ years. There's a big spread between what I use every day and what I have. Pedals are fun. Looking for intersting deals on ebay and the forum is a favorite past time.

if you mean me, i count it as 11 as the gigrig is a switching system, not a pedal.
or so i tell myself

I really only depend on one pedal to achieve my sound. But have a collection of vintage pedals I pull off the shelf from time to time.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
Actually I don't have a pedal tuner. I use one that clips on my headstock. I just like it better. My pedal board is small (3 pedals) right now, but I have a few others I haven't sold still sitting in boxes just in case. Right now I have a Joyo ultimate drive into a VFE blues king into a Line 6 rotary simulator. Truth is I don't take any of them out all the time and if I use my Mesa amp I really don't need anything...although I like em for color and am loving the sound of the Line 6 more and more for some viby rhythm stuff. It just adds magic...but I try not to overuse it.
I sold a bunch of things recently that I had around--an old 70s Ibanez EQ, an original Thomas organ cry baby wah, a 70s Ibanez CE1 chorus...never used them though. Made pretty good ching on e-bay. More then I thought I would. I'm just getting back into using pedals at all...and like it. I'm not dependent on them though. |

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
I keep an RP300A in the effects loop, for volume control, basic chorus and delay. It's pretty rare that I use any effects, though -- maybe 10% of the time.

Re: How many pedals do you use besides a tuner.
I'm seriously considering getting a Peterson clip-on, it seems more sensible, but then I wouldn't have that immediate cut-off of a tuner pedal. Oh decisions...
