Evolution of a Pedalboard/psychosis. pic heavy.

so i was looking through my photobucket this evening for a specific pic, and noticed that i've been pretty good at documenting my board in the past few months/years. It is chilling (and yet no surprise to those who know me) how things have changed, especially since i started playing in a band again - although i've always agreed with the phrase "no plan survives contact with the enemy". And i am, in all ways, my own worst enemy. ergo, no plan survives me.

anyway, here's the earliest pic i could find. Dated June '09.

a EH board/bag, heavily Danelectro'd. I think it was the Cool Cat series that got me interested in pedals again, to be honest.

next up, a few months later - still '09, month unknown. i have no recollection of ever owning that multi-chorus, oddly

on we move to March 2010. a Swanflight case has appeared to keep my pedals safe, and the pedals have changed again, of course. The red thing is an A/B pedal to flip between the Bone Bender (which i had no idea how to use, and now regret selling) and the Blackstar Dual.

annoyingly this seems to be the only pic i have of the next change - unsure of the date as well.

now, here's a funny one - my board changes to this

and then back to one resembling the previous incarnation, proving what a tit i am.

ok, we're into mid 2011 by this point - the Strymon El Capistan has appeared. You'll see more of him! Also pictured are the coloursound overdriver clone that North made for me (and subsequently started making for general sale) and the Violet Ram that i believe is now in Scandinavia or somewhere

alright kids - still with me? this is where it REALLY starts to ramp up... october '11...

gilmour obsession is beginning. this pic is on gilmourish.com, i think

flock of seagulls brother, just to break the tension

i have less than no idea what is going on here

the octa switch appears

recording pedalboard

hello/goodbye whammy...

another difference? i can't even tell anymore... these are on a Diago Tourman board.

Re: Evolution of a Pedalboard/psychosis. pic heavy.

looking back - i did this in a couple of stints, pre and post pub - what gets me is the amount of stuff i barely remember owning, and the pedals that aren't even ON the board in some of the pics. man alive, i'm a jackass.

Re: Evolution of a Pedalboard/psychosis. pic heavy.

I went through my photobucket pics last week and did the same thing. It's funny how things have evolved or come full circle. Since 2008, I've easily gone through 200 pedals. I saw a ton of pedals I had totally forgotten about.

I enjoyed this post a lot!

crazy, isn't it? it's like being confronted with a week's worth of beer cans and vodka bottles and still denying there's a problem...

Re: Evolution of a Pedalboard/psychosis. pic heavy.

Here's one from 2008-2009'ish. Very early in my pedal problem.

Here is one from when I had like 70 at once in maybe 2010z

And here is one of the "raunchiest" pedals I've owned.

Not as in depth as yours, but a good summary.

Don't you get it? This is the only thing that hasn't changed since day one. That's Snare's signature baby!

Great thread Snares, if I ever get my board to be remotely close to where I want it, I may take up on it myself. I see my (well, now...) 535Q in there! You're right, Ram's Head is in Sweden ATM.

I also see that you had your fair share of interesting amps there. Should we expect a sister-thread...?

Re: Evolution of a Pedalboard/psychosis. pic heavy.

Great thread! I've gone through something similar since last summer, but since I was also unemployed at the time the changes are less dramatic... The Violet Ram is currently sitting on my Music Stuff Shelf, waiting for me to get a bigger board (I can only use one fuzz at a time now! the tragedy!) - are the Diagos good stuff?
