NPD - Green Rhino MKII

Just got this bad boy today

To be honest, yet to give it a good try out - excited to do so, as have heard only good things about them.

Will post a review later...

Re: NPD - Green Rhino MKII

Looking forward to your review - I'm on the fence between this and the MXR Modified OD. Leaning toward the Modified, but I could be talked the other way...

Sure thing - will compare it to the Blues Driver and Hot Cake currently on my board.

Very nice! I love the Green Rhino - it's still my favorite 808 (tubescreamer) clone. It won't be leaving my board.

The MXR Modified OD has the Green Rhino's sound in the bump mode, and a more transparent sound in the regular mode. I have a video on YouTube comparing the two - they are both EXCELLENT pedals and are amazing for the price, a steal IMO.

Great - thanks

One of the reasons for me getting it was hearing your positive thoughts on it - so have high hopes. Just got it onto my board now and about ready to give it a test run...

Re: NPD - Green Rhino MKII

Wow! Just had a blast through with this pedal. Am blown away by this thing. The different tones that you can get out of this thing are incredible.

Was twiddling away with the "Volume" and "Drive" dials and getting some nice sounds. But then trying different settings with the "100Hz" and "Curve" dials and the thing came alive. Real smooth, mellow gain to full out distortion - it seems it can do it all.

By far the most versatile overdrive pedal I have used - highly recommend checking this out. Plus, they put two pin badges in the box as well - what's not to love
Hector Arcadius likes this.

Re: NPD - Green Rhino MKII

Glad to hear more happy GR users, makes me more confident in saving for it

Does it have the same absurd amount of output as the Pork Loin? I can't imagine a situation where I'd need all of it, it'll pretty much bulldoze any preamp into oblivion

I know! My Pork Loin came with a whole bunch of stuff in the box, and it was second hand to boot!

Only played it pretty low volume this evening - but will get chance to crank it at band rehearsal tomorrow. But, it did seem to have a lot of output - so I could well imagine it being like your Pork Loin...
