Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

I use an Electro-Harmonix Echo #1 digital delay pedal, and I suppose it's quite decent, having never tried an analog delay. I am filled with curiosity as to their newish Memory Boy and Memory Toy analog delay pedals. Has anyone tried either?

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

Dont laugh! I use a Danelectro PB & J, it does everything I need, short and long delays on a separate footswitch so slapback to 2 secs at one click. It also breaks up nicley as the signal tails off. Cheao but cheerful

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

Digital, at the moment a T-Rex Replica. Think digital is bad ? The T-Rex uses 24 bit sampling. To give you an idea, the BOSS DD-6 uses 12 bit and the audio CD's you're listening to 16 bit.
Other blokes who use the T-Rex Replica include Brad Whitford, Carlos Santana, David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Pete Townshend and so on. Not the kind of lads that have to settle for something they don't like...

When I was still touring and recording, I used several Marshall JFX-1 units and a Rocktron Intelliverb.

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

I hated any kind of delay after I was given the Boss Digital Delay by someone who was leaving the country. Delay on most amps too sucks pretty bad. I've just avoided it altogether, but I'm gonna get back into it as I'm playing more and more at church and like to have a cool slapback sorta thing going to add a cool vibe there while I play clean. I assume I don't like Digital delays because I really did not like the Boss. So, I'm gonna give analog delay a shot. Electro-Harmonix Memory Toy, here I come!

I have a Line6 dl4 and used to love it...I really like the tap tempo and the expression pedal, but I'm getting less thrilled with it.

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

I haven't tried out the analog or tape delays, but I really like using two digital delays at once... Two Boss DD-3's sounded great to me. =]

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

i was all about analog delays, but the skreddy echo and vintage-mod empress superdelay, both digital, are the most tape-like delay stompboxes i've ever heard. they're both so, so good.

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

I've had too many bad experiences with digital effects... Analog all the way...

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

TC Nova Delay.

I don't use delay very often, digital is more predictable, I can set the tempo exactly how I want it (and it will stay there for as long as I want it to), tap tempo, presets are a plus, and REVERSE DELAY!!!

This might be the one for me pending the Malekko 919.

Re: ANALOG vs DIGITAL which delay do you play ?

Isn't there a relationship of sorts between TC Electronics and T Rex?
