Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
I use a Danelctro Reel Echo which is quite versatile and I love it. However it's too bloody big for my pedal board and may get retired soon.

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
I dig analog myself so I use a Boss DM2 as my main delay and I also use a DLS EchoTap which is a combo of analog signal and digital processing ..

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
Line 6 ~ToneCore ~ Echo Park
see~ http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/tone...-you-play.html They've figured out how to add wow and flutter plus Tape Wabble. You also get Analog , Digital and Tape Delays even Reverse. It's stereo ,also built like a Tank. Watch the Demo. If this doesn't sell you and my review, then nothing will and you'd be making a HUGE mistake . http://www.line6.com/media/tonecore/video/ECHO%20PARK.mov Plus I get a few cents for endorsing it. Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
I just sold my echo park.. unfortunately, but it is hands down the best stomp box delay on the market.
The Line 6 delay modeller is also super sweet, but its too big for me to lug around to gigs. The Echo Park SMOKES in the loop *which is where a delay should be anyway* but I found it had a touch of hiss in front of my older Marshalls. Nothing that I couldn't overlook, but a mild annoyance. In the loop it was dead silent, easy to use, and the most full featured stomp box delay I've ever owned. I give it 7 thumbs up.

The secret to the noise is to buy the power supply that Line 6 makes exactly for it . Don't know exactly why. It also beats carrying around my Rack Rig to small gigs. |

Ive never been much for delay units, guess its just me but I did enjoy that reverse echo I could see some possible uses for me.

You probably would dig the DD3 with the analogman high cut mod, its a 3 position toggle with the middle being stock, to the left it gets slightly darker on the repeats and to the right it get a bit more darker and really warms up the delay! |

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
CS ~ For me it's not about affording one.
( Well maybe it is, but in another way" Price of the tapes" ) I've used them forever, but the tapes are a pain in the butt. They can just stop echoing in the middle of a gig or recording session. It seems that the tape can only go around so many times before something happens to the oxide on the tape and it won't record anymore. It's not like I ever carried one of those huge cartridges with me. If I did,it would get smashed with all the gear being moved around anyway. Tapes were about $15.00 U.S. way back . HOWEVER~ an Echoplex is an Echoplex and Nothing can give you that sound that I love so much ![]() Though the Echo Park is the closest I've ever come. |

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
My EchoTap does a very nice Echoplex simulation !! It has a vintage factor knob so you can control how much the repeats breakup and warble !

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
The Echo tone knob changes the dynamics of the delay .. To the way left it is very digital sounding with very accurate repeats but as you turn it to the right it starts to sound more broken up and the repeats have more degradation with each echo like an Echoplex and with it to the extreme right you get some very convincing tape warble ! The tap tempo is good to have to as well as 2 different programable delay settings on the fly !

My DD-3 because it's simple to use, didn't cost
me an arm and a leg, and it just... works!

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
I got a delay built into a Alessi's Pico Verb that I picked up for 25 bucks used, I rarely if ever use that function of it, and never have giggin, Now IF i could have some delay, Yeah a couple Echoplex's would be so cool. Thanks to Coco Montoya, I have a clue on how to do the reverse thingy

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
I have a few analog stomp delays, Ibanez, MXR, Boss, Washburn, Pearl, I just like the juicier tone of them over the digital ones. Yea, they are noisy but they just don't sound so harsh.
I wish I still had my old rack mount Chandler digital echo/delay unit, those were way cool sounding with the high cut switch engaged. My brother still has his, maybe I'll have to borrow it... I'd like to try the new Space Echo, since the old tape ones were cool. Vintage Echoplexes are cool, but since they are so old now, they always need fixing and it just gets to be a pain to keep them working good.

Re: Favorite Delay Pedal ???
My Favorite is a Roland RE-201 Space Echo, But that is not really a pedal.
One of mine was modded with a volume pedal for the delay volume. Plus the on/off footswitch. Really fun. Gigging in NYC I usually don't use it too much, because I have to carry, or cab my gear. If we have a distant gig and I have room in the vehicle I take it. Otherwise a Maxon AD-900 Cleanest analog with warmth I have found. Plus I like the big knobs. I put some MXR toe jammies on and I can adjust the knobs with my feet. I have a stupid amount of delay units. I have found the DM-2 kind of dark and underwatery. I have one I use more of an "effect" than a "delay". I also have a DD-2 that I like and use when I want to carry less/smaller gear. The DD2 and the DM 2 make a nice pair one with clarity and one with a mushier sound. I also frequently use Guyatone MD2 when I want everything to fit in a gigbag, and be light. ![]() ![]() ![]()
