Buying a compressor for fun is not very...fun. I would not buy one until you say "gee, I sure could use a compressor for this." So option "A" will certainly be more pleasurable!

Re: Pedal Acquisition Syndrome PAS group

News just in - I just got an unexpected pedal.... A relative went on a yard sale today and saw a pedal for $10 and bought it for me. I asked what the name of it was...... Turns out it's a ProCo RAT!!!! She said "It's black and says Rat on it". I haven't seen it yet so I don't know if it's old or new, but I'm assuming the latter! Still - you can't beat a free (to me) pedal!

Turns out my sh!tty weekend is looking up!

I'll be sure to take pics and post about it when I get it. I have no clue what kind of condition it's in, when it was made, etc. All I know is what she told me over the phone. I'll get it sometime next week.

the crunch box is effing hilarious!

it's like being eddie van halen on steroids - that also seem to reduce your skills from "EVH" to "disabled guy on a rainy day", of course.

Re: Pedal Acquisition Syndrome PAS group

So spent days fannying around trying to decide: new phaser to replace my MXR Script 90, or a Flint...........

Wanted a stereo phaser if poss, not many around. Looked at the Diamond, Keeley and a few others but settled on the Red Witch Moon Phaser.

I bought a Red Witch Medusa last month and love the chorus and/chorus trem or whatever they call it....(the trem on its own is not the best to be honest),.

So picking up the Witch tomorrow and decided to get a Flint next month, all things being equal. Mmmmm, also have a sniff of a BC108 Analogman sunface here in the U.K. so might add that.

I will then sound like god (Ish)

Re: Pedal Acquisition Syndrome PAS group

by the way, i start to get nervous right about... NOW.

i ordered an in stock Flint on friday(?) and it should arrive tomorrow or wednesday. not 100% sure i ordered one in time though. the site DID say in stock, and now it says "pre-order". so maybe i was in time. dunno. and i'm kinda rambling now. MORE PINCH HARMONICS

That's the thing about modulation. I want a flexible phaser, and a killer flanger, from time to time a little chorus and I wouldn't mind a tremolo every now and then. And I thought, this is going to be ridiculous, both money-wise and pedalboard-estate-wise and then you have to consider power-supplying for everything and... Nightmare.

So I sold / traded all mod pedals I had, in view of buying (eventually) a do-it-all-modulation-box. Eventide is pretty pricey, then I decided on a TC Modulator. Now if I manage to STOP PAS-ing for dirt-boxes, I may actually
get me one...

cold would be a step up from this. warm and damp basically turns me into a statue.

in other news, just had another ten minutes with the crunch box. this thing has a ****TON of crunch. i get the name now. it's like all the preamp gain ever in a box. in some ways it's more aggressive than the triple wreck, i swear

i know it's kinda been the snaredrum show today, but something else has come up

strymon pedals are FUSSY.

i wanted a global tap tempo switch so i could adjust the tempo of the El Capistan and the Flint at the same time. this is looking to be impossible. ooh, the rage

So I am slightly disappointed that I cannot buy a pedal right now because I am heading out to Myrtle Beach this weekend for my vacation so I decided to put the sovereign on hold till I get back. Plus I need a new set of Ray Bans, so I am sure my bank account will thank me. But I did buy a white strap for my strat so I could atleast buy something

I feel for you brother. I also have to take the family for summer vacation and I also took a 3-day trip to Greece last month and had the car serviced and... Argh! All those little things that get between me and more, more, MORE precious pedals...

Well my POG2 is on the way back to the mothership. It would not save presets when powered down. I emailed EHX and they said to send it back and they would fix it ASAP, for free!! Apparently some were susceptible to software coruption. Whatever, just happy to get it fixed!!

Re: Pedal Acquisition Syndrome PAS group

first impressions

for convenience's sake, i just took the rotary sim off my board and stuck the flint in it's slot, as i couldn't be bummed to reroute my board and everything.

as you guys know, i'm a sap for biiiiiig, shoegazey sounds, and the 80s reverb is great for this. it's basically infinite, and the way the sound builds is really impressive. my tap tempo footswitch is built, apparently - that guy Hank is faaaaaaast - and so the tremolo side will open up once that arrives. it sounds awesome though. this afternoon i will mostly be dialling in the How Soon Is Now sound, and just playing that. it's the only smiths song i like

Did you try the Flint with the Crunch Box? 80's hall-sounding reverb and a little bit of delay makes it sound HUGE!
