A jewel case with a booklet would be nice.

Re: Pedal Acquisition Syndrome PAS group

after a week of HELL, i've had a moment of clarity. it's not that i don't like the twin... i just prefer the Hiwatt. I mean, a year ago i'd never even think i'd get to compare/contrast the two, so who am i to complain, right - but still, the pedals i use - the Wampler in particular - just sound BETTER through the hiwatt. so goodbye twin! (i hope)

Exactly!

It came with a very nice booklet with tons of great pics, lyrics, liner notes, AND Joe's blurb about each song and what it's about and why he wrote it.

And the album artwork is excellent on the cover and booklet. The album artwork is fantastic - Joe with a nice Gibson hollowbody and a great logo for the album title.

Actually, that appears to be an Epiphone Hollowbody with the name blacked out. Knowing Joe's tastes, it is probably something vintage as opposed to new. Between this album and Johnny Winters latest effort, real music is not dead yet!

There is a pic floating around of the guitar - it has "GIBSON" on the truss rod cover going down vertically in capital letters like this:

G
I
B
S
O
N

Interesting. It also has the floral thing and I've seen pics of it, it's a single cutaway Emperor looking guitar. Like a jazz box guitar.

That's the guitar. I can't find the photo with the Gibson truss rod cover but it was a long while ago when I saw it as it was posted when it was first announced.

Cool. I wonder why Epiphone put Gibson on some of the truss rod covers of some of the Epis? I've never seen another like that. I just rid some reading and that means they were an earlier 90s model made in Korea as opposed to made in China.

Re: Pedal Acquisition Syndrome PAS group

Well I thought I'd post to say that tomorrow morning we take the dogs to the boarding kennel and off we go on vacation! I can't wait. I will be able to hopefully check in every couple days. I will be back on the 15th.

I will hopefully be coming back with an amp or guitar and of course LOTS of pedals!! I'm SO giddy. Although one pedal I really want I'm sure they won't have - the Analogman Sun Bender.

Talk to you all soon!

Do check in man as I should have a Sun Bender tomorrow and I will share my experiences and maybe get around to a video with hum buggies!

Enjoy your vacation! I have a challenge for you, come back with at least one pedal that is not dirt!! Harmonizer maybe?

Yes definitely post a Paul or 335 video with the Bender. I have only heard people using them with Teles so far - which I do use but I use LPs mainly.

Haha do compressors count?! I really want to try the JHS compressor. I keep hearing great things about 'em and I know the Nashville place has JHS. I do love compression and have been in the market for a couple more. I hear a lot of Nashville guys are dumping their Keeleys for this one and the Wampler Ego. I tried pretty much every compressor on the market a long time ago except the JHS and I want to try it. It's Orange Squeezer based but with a clean blend.

Just for fun - here are the non-dirt pedals I want:

TC Flashback Stereo Delay, BOSS Equalizer, BOSS Harmonist, JHS Pulp N Peel, BOSS Super Chorus, and Analogman Juicer.

I jump in here to read the insanity and try to leave before I end up wanting twenty more pedals... My limited and maybe worthless advice is always based in part on my slight hording of gear, so caveat emptier: I would play my x amp only for two months or so and then play my y amp only for two months because the twin is a pretty sweet amp and I would want to keep both and maybe even run them at the same time... this assumes that the twin has more of an pre-cbs type sound then say a post cbs type sound.

Oh boy that's gonna be tough. My main ingredients to the sound I like is dirt, compression, and slapback delay.

And hey - compressors have no gain - they can be used clean.

I'll try my best! Maybe a chorus of some sort or a Leslie box.

Thanks! It indeed will be fun. I already have my eye on an amp there and I just hope it's still there when I get to Nashville as I'm spending the first few days in Memphis before I go to Nashville! If I end up getting it - it will be quite sweet!

Have fun and buy what ever the hell sounds awesome! Check out the analogman chorus, its pretty sweet!
Oops - LOL. All I know is that when I kick it on I don't hear any distortion. I mainly use mine for a country snap sound, also works great as a lead boost with the volume up and compression down.

I'm hoping to see what they have that is cool. I'd like to get some type of rotary thing and a stereo delay. I'm not a big flanger guy but I love Leslie and Phaser. I like Chorus too as long as it ain't too cheesy 80s sounding.

Haha will do! The RT20 is nice. The one I really want though is the Strymon Lex. That's the one I really like. Or the Neo Ventilator.
