NPD: Bjfe Pale Green Compressor
Well, I finally found my amazing compressor pedal. I've been trying to find one for a little while, and now I had the money and luckily someone was needing to sell it.
Here's a picture: ![]() It's #56. And it's tiny. I was pretty surprised at how small it was. It's around 4 inches in length and about 2/3 across. It only has three knobs. Volume, Body, Compression. The work on the inside is pretty neat. He does have everything covered up, but it had to take a ton of time to get those components to work like they do in that small of space. Onto the sound. It is extremely transparent and the quietest pedal I have. The volume works just as you would think it would, and can actually make a nice little clean boost with the settings left alone. The volume knob is great for clean wanking, or you can roll it down to tighten up the rhythm and blend in with the natural amp volume. The magic is in the body knob. I don't really know how else to describe this sound, other than saying that it adds depth and sustain. It does wonders for single coils, but I was shocked at the sustain I had with the LP. It just rings and rings. The compression knob is exactly as you would expect, go from normal to punchy attacks, all the way country/rockabilly sounds. I think the beauty lies in that you can't tell that its turned on sometimes. It's extremely transparent and mixes in so well with the natural playing. I think this may be my first "always on" pedal. I have another pedal on the way that should excite any fans of the MKII fuzzes.

Very glad to see that you're more than happy with your new pedal Mayo! Enjoy the honeymoon (and I hope it's a ''sustained'' one...)

Sorry for taking so long, I wasn't ingoring your request. A gutshot doesn't really show anything as he was the black substance over the parts and the rubber cover is glued in as a well. Here's a picture: ![]() The rubber is pad is glued right above where that red capacitor is showing. I didn't want to pull them apart incase I could have damaged something by freak accident. |

Re: NPD: Bjfe Pale Green Compressor
Thanks. Gooping the pcb's is really stupid. I don't get why they do that. If someone wants to trace the circuit, they'll do it regardless. And if, 20 years from now, your pedal stops working and the guy who did it is no longer around, you can't replace it and it will be a PITA to fix it.
Sorry for the rant... |
