Nmpw

New metal pedal weekend just passed and all I can say is

Biyang Metal End

I've sang the praises of a couple metal pedals but nothing has compared yet, especially considering these can be had for under $75.

I'm def in the honeymoon phase but I can't find a bad tone, unless you think metal is a bad tone.

On initial tests I like the classic mode with no high cut and bright setting. Low and mid about 1 o'clock high at 12 o'clock. Mid freq at 11. Distortion at 12 o'clock. Amp sim is on at low volume, off at high.

It gets some serious chunk with awesome cutting leads.

BTW I play Mastodon, Fu Manchu, Nebula, Orange Goblin, Wolfmother, Sabbath and the likes along wiht a myriad of 90's punk. It can handle it all where fuzz isn't called for.

The YT vids aren't that great. I stumbled across it at a local mom and pop and was just blown away so I picked one up. Check it out if you get a chance.

Re: Nmpw

Looks pretty sick! Too bad I ain't the metal type, otherwise I'd be all over that thing.

Gratz on your find! Let us know when you're out of the honeymoon stage. I hope you won't end up on the couch. But seriously, let us know.

Re: Nmpw

i got their Rat clone - the one that has settings for normal, turbo, and whatever - and it was SOOOOOO noisy. Not in a good way either, i mean hiss, buzz... i was so disappointed.

I'm so happy you love yours, though - makes me think i should give them a second chance

Metal-End, I'd have to hear it to believe it.

Re: Nmpw

There is noise associated with it when the dist is cranked but I wouldn't say anymore than any other high gain pedal.

I was playing around with it last night and found some Maiden tone. That turned into a couple hours of learning The Trooper.

I have found that with the mid freq maxed if you move the mid knob quickly it will squeak almost like when you slide your fingers quickly on the wound strings. No big deal as it only happens when actually tweaking the knobs but still strange.

I'm going to carry it to a full band jam on Sunday and see how it handles with a drummer.

BTW my tone is quite fancier now.
