Anyone use two OD pedals?
Im thinking about using two OD pedals in my setup. 1 for a gainier tone at lower volumes (rhythm playing), and one for louder solos. I was thinking I would click the first off then click the second on and visa versa. Anyone use this setup, or one like it?

Re: Anyone use two OD pedals?
sometimes I use my tube screamer to boost the distorted channel on my amp, but sometimes i use the OCD to boost the clean channel because it's musical sex to my ears

Re: Anyone use two OD pedals?
I've setup one OD as an OD and the other as a clean boost and just left the overdrive one on, using the other for boosts.
Some amps don't boost well through the preamp though, and you can use a clean booster in the effects loop to make a volume boost. I've used 2 overdrives together to really sear the front end of a JCM 800. 800's don't boost well at the preamp, but they get more and more gain, and go full blown insanity with 2 overdrives pushing the preamp. |

Re: Anyone use two OD pedals?
I've done the same as Loki in the past--I ran my OCD as my main OD, and had a TS9 before it in the chain set up to boost. (Drive at 9 o'clock, Level at 3 o'clock, Tone at 10 o'clock)
When playing clean through my AC30 or JTM45 the TS9 would get me just a bit of gain (power tube), but when boosting the OCD it turned into a raped ape. ![]() Tonal bliss. Right now I'm using my 80's Tube Driver, and the TS9 doesn't seem to has as much of an effect. I leave the TD on all of the time, and use guitar volume to clean up; I only turn off the TD if I need jazzy-type cleans. BB

my fave is to run my Lovepedal COT-50 at half-mast with my Xotic RC boosting it into my little Blackheart

Re: Anyone use two OD pedals?
I use my Klon as a clean boost and my KOT as an overdrive. If you cascade them Klon into KOT you can make the whole room wake up and pay attention!

Re: Anyone use two OD pedals?
I use three! HBE Powerscreamer to a Vexter Box of Rock into a Catalinbread Serrano Picasso. The HBE is a lot thicker sounding than the BOR or the Catalinbread SP, so I use it for a heavier OD sound. The BOR is my medium gain and the SP is low gain.

Re: Anyone use two OD pedals?
Ive got an EH Metal Muff with Top Boost and its really like two OD pedals in one box. Although its called a Metal Muff, you can actually dial in your brand of OD to either sound like Led Zep, GNR, or Metallica. Then punch the Top Boost and instead of being some kind of cheap volume bolstering function, it actually makes the OD tone of the first OD hotter to cut thru all but the thickest sound in a gig.
Ive also used it to boost (like as if i needed another) the OD channel on my Marshall.
