Best LP junior copy?
I have a couple of juniors including "the real one" a vintage 59 double cut, I also have a Tokai and a Edwards relic . As the I consider the jr to be a simple straight forward guitar, I'm convinced that I can find a mij copy close to the original as the concept is less complicated than let's say a LP custom. I was impressed but the quality of the Edwards and the Tokai after having changed all the electronics and pickup. I'm lurking on a OBG or a Greco super real or a Burny.
Any suggestions? Differences in quality, what would be the closest to the original or "the" best? |

While technically not a copy, and certainly not "best" in terms of authenticity, the discontinued Epiphone '57 Junior Reissue is one hell of a guitar. Coldsteal and myself, and I believe a couple of others here, have one and love it. With my eyes closed, it's one of my two best guitars. Roman, allow me to re-post the picture. Damn, that's nice!

I'm sure that could be arranged

Re: Best LP junior copy?
To Joebonzai: I got the relic version of that Edwards, I love it! Though I changed the SD pup that sucked and put a Wolfetone. Sound has improved drastically eventhough I prefer the SD Antiquity on my Tokai made with Alnico II, sounds warmer, the Wolfetone has got that telecaster twang which is kinda strange.

Re: Best LP junior copy?
The Epi Junior '57 Reissue is a very well made guitar. I had a few modifications done on mine to make it even better; P-90 replaces the stock P-100 and the original bridge/tailpiece is replaced with a Tone Pros intonatable model.

Re: Best LP junior copy?
![]() ![]() The ´08 TOKAI Love Rock TJ-85 DC cherry (not mine) is an excellent LP-Junior model but hard to find. The german TOKAI-dealer/distributor Gottfried Schmid (Golfredo) will help you: Tokai, Guitar, Gitarren, Springy Sound, Breezysound, Goldstar, Silverstar, Les Paul Reborn, Wraparound My ´95 ORVILLE Les Paul Junior DC LPJD-70 HC cherry is one of the most resonant guitars I ever played. It was a bargain from Yahoo Japan and I´ll keep her for ever. |

Re: Best LP junior copy?
the best bang for your buck is a PRS SE One imho. while not a true copy, it obviously has the jr vibe.
Mine has a hot dubyabee p90 in it... it truly screams, and plays as good as it sounds.

Re: Best LP junior copy?
Correct me if I'm mistaken but didn't FujiGen continue making the Les Paul's(excluding Jr's and Specials) and Terada make everything else?
