Baby Duane is Finished!
For the three or four of you out there who've been following the progress on my Less Tall Model half scale guitars, I thought I'd post some pics of the recently completed Baby Duane. I completed it just in time to bring to the Gibson Summer Jam, where it was met with considerable enthusiasm (and disbelief). As you may know, Dave Johnson applied the finish to the guitar, and did an absolutely amazing job. Hope you like it!
And yes, I know that to make it look more authentic, I need to remove three screws from the pickup surrounds, age the guitar and spell out "Duane" in the back with fret wire. The screws I can easily take care of, but the other things I'm going to pass on...for now. I'm afraid that if I go too far, some might mistake it for the real thing! :lol ![]() Here's a picture of me showing it to Edwin Wilson at the Jam (I think he liked it): ![]() And thanks to Dan for the photo. Re: Baby Duane is Finished!
Thanks, guys, I appreciate the nice comments. I'm now weighing my options, trying to figure out what my next project will be...although there are still a few loose ends I need to tie up with the two I just completed. Stay tuned (no pun intended)!
