Re: anyone own a burny lp custom 1980s?

I have one that came with VH1s which are good for stock, but I replaced them. It's a great guitar BUT...mine had a gap between the fret end tabs and the frets making it virtually unplayable. But now it's with Roman getting a fretjob to fix the problem.

Roman commented about my Greco and Burny that in some ways they are more true to the original design than Gibbos of today.

So far as I know, the gap is not common. Mine had a new nut (and in all likelihood) had been refretted poorly. Other than that it is a fantastic guitar.

I also have an old Burny SG which is all stock (except electronics)...frets are perfect. I haven't priced a Burny lately. Unfortunately the American dollar isn't doing so well these days, but I got my SG in the $400 range and my LP in the $500 range. Excellent bang for your buck....even after having to pay for a fretjob on the LP.

Fretjob prices can vary greatly. I'd suggest calling a trusted luthier for a quote.

I own a Burny LP Korina Custom. It's beautiful, resonant, and heavy.

Re: anyone own a burny lp custom 1980s?

I own a bunch of 80's Burnys (mostly Customs), and I play them live all the time. They're great guitars. Most came from the factory with beutiful fret-edge binding, and nice C-carve necks. The VH-1s are great underwound, unpotted pickups, although my main Burny (1st pic) has WB 67-07s in it. I highly recommend them.

Good Lord! Where do you find them all? Ebay and what not? I've yet to see one in a local listing or shop... ever! That goes for any MIJ LP's aside from Epi Elitists. Are any of your Burny's Nitro finished?

Well, since the thread is about Burnys, and since the headstock logo clearly reads 'Burny', I must assume it is a Burny.
