Richwood - Tree of Life

Hi folks,

thought you might be interested in this slightly unusual Les Paul-style guitar I found in a local music shop here in the UK.

Made by a company called Richwood, it's a "Tree of life" model, you can check out the fretboard to see why:

(apologies if the pics don't show, I nicked em from an ebay listing)
More info here:
ELECTRIC GUITAR Richwood Les Paul 2007 Tree of Life :: Les Pauls :: Electric Guitars :: Guitar + Bass :: Dangleberry Music Ltd

I played with it in the shop for a little while and it was really nice to play, nice and heavy, smooth low action, MoP fretboard inlays perfectly smooth. It was a stunning guitar to look at too. The detail was gorgeous, the quilted top, mother of pearl binding, including the headstock... awesome.

If I had a spare £500 I' be veeery tempted!

Nope, sorry. :S

Cleverly, richwood's own website isn't even live at the moment.

Will ask the guy in the shop next time I'm in there though.

Re: Richwood - Tree of Life

Richwoods are primarily a budget line guitar if i remember correctly. they are all over the place here in ireland. not this particular model, but i have seen some les paul "sx" and "tanglewood" brands of electrics over here. i might be wrong, but i think that they are made in china. they sell here for around 300 euros if i remember correctly. i checked online, but there is very little info out there. someone at hc said they were made in korea, but i don't think so. most of the ones i have seen have been ok looking, but played like most chinese copy type guitars.

Re: Richwood - Tree of Life

Right on.

I've played a couple of Korean "lesser known" Pauls (while I was stationed there) - one from a company called "Indie" that are made at the Unsung factory in Korea (one of the old OEM builders of Epiphone) - Jay Turser are made there as well, I think. Both of those companies have a "tree of life" inlay model as I recall - maybe they're related, maybe not...

Oh yeah, most of the other Richwood guitars I've seen are cheapos, this just seemed a little different, and it was very well put together.
