MIJ LP Comparison thread
I think it would be good to make a thread where the differences of all the different MIJ pauls could be stated. I've read a few threads, and I see that quite a few of us (me included) are completley clueless. Anyway, any of ya'll learned folks care to join on in?

Re: MIJ LP Comparison thread
I learned a LOT and am still learning from The Tokai Forum. All the major MIJ's are discussed there. Be prepared to be confused at first. Read through each guitar brand's dedicated discussion area.
Tokai Forum - a subsidiary of TokaiRegistry.com :: Index Also, try Japanaxe: Japanaxe • Index page Another great place where many of the same folks hang out. Good luck.

Re: MIJ LP Comparison thread
Hello- I'm new to this forum but I've been on the GP for several years. I have dabbled with the MIJ Pauls for about 5 years now. I have owned Pauls from Greco, Tokai, Washburn MIJ, Orville and now a couple of Epiphone MU (forerunner to the Elite series with the correct headstock) Don't own the Greco anymore. I'm no expert but I have had to learn a lot about them and it is difficult to find information. There is a lot of confusion for sure. The info Hank provided is mandatory for a start. Quality on these are all over the place but I dig the MIJ Pauls.

Re: MIJ LP Comparison thread
Who all makes MIJ LP's w/ long tenons and Nitrocellulose finishes?
I know that Orville by Gibson, Tokai, Epiphone (MIJ Lacquer series?), and Edwards do, right? Who else? |

Those DO have openbook headstocks! There's also some labeled "Live Brian" I think, might be mistaken on that... |

Re: MIJ LP Comparison thread
Yeah, those old skool Bacchus with open book headstocks have "Live Road Model" on them.
Orville by Gibson 1992 Lemonburst LPS-T Its the first one on the left. Its a brown finish. Its a Bacchus bls120 Live Road model. Snake-charmer....... Not the best of photos I know! The Navigators ARE VERY COOL. I have one. The craftsmanship and quality is superb! Almost immaculate! Honduras Mahogany is pretty much standard on all Les Paul models. Although, i would highly recommend Sonix Guitars. You know WHY??? YOU REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHY? Thats because Bacchus MAKES THEM!!!! they are an unbranded name guitar because they use the Gibson correct headstock and Bacchus nowadays uses its weirdstock look. They make sweet 59 replicas. Yes, you can still get Bacchus MIJs with open book headstocks under the Sonix line. They use Honduras Mahogany for body and neck, plus Jacaranda for fingerboard.
