My new '59 burst Doppelganger

Hey guys,
This is the first non-MIJ I've ownded in some time, but the deal was too good to pass up. Thanks to forum member Esse (FlamingTop) for being so easy to work with. It's so much more guitar than I have any right to own or play. 1959 Grovers from Jim Bastian. She's 8.6 pounds of 100 year old Honduran Mahogany and 200 year old Brazilian Rosewood left over from flooring a church! The builder (who will remain nameless), was willing to chat on the phone and gave me some other tasty info, and that was all it took. Just waiting for my new WB 67-07's to show up now, but given how this thing rings acoustically I can't even imagine what Will Boggs' magic will do to this thing!

I hate to say it ... but there really is nothing like old, old-growth wood. I'm a believer.

Cheers,
Ryan

Congrats, if only i had one of those. Have fun with it. Is there a serial # on it just to make it more like a gibson?

Re: My new '59 burst replica

Amazing! With the guitar being constructed partly with wood from from a church, would that make it...heavenly?

Sorry, that one was just too obvious.

Very nice color, and the top looks really "organic" for a lack of a better word,
not overly "perfect" flame, but has some personality to it!
