Re: aria pro II
cheers but those links are no good you see aria guitars used to be really well made and the factory they came from in japan turned out some awsome quality guitars so ive been told but in order to know if mine is one of said guitars i need to know what year it is. the newer modles are worth what they ask for them but the older ones have a real fan following. i had it on a 3 da listing and had 23 watchers and over 15 people asking me what year it was or can i prove its from japan. i'm not fussed to much about felling it for mega bucks i just want rid as i need to make space for my new one. my wife says no more that one at a time coz the house starts to look like a music shop.

Re: aria pro II
its a newer one. note the headstock and body shape. id say it IS MIJ because the bridge posts are not screw heads which all made in china guitars have. japanese ones have standard gibson style posts without a screw head. i think its made in japan.

Re: aria pro II
I had a very good friend who had a MIJ Aria lp copy that looked very similar to this one. I believe he had put a '57 classic humbucker @ the bridge. The guitar played great & sounded great. He left the stock pick up @ the neck, it was fine too. Overall an excellent guitar, though I will say I could definiately feel a difference between it and my Epi standards. Great guitar though, a real looker!

Re: aria pro II
i beg to differ my mate ahd a Eperphone in the same colour the lot. we both agreed mine sounded better and the finish were identical. he was gutted because his cost him £350 from a shop and mine was £70 2nd hand.

LOL, my bad, in that case I respectfully disagree, but acknowledge that the Aria's are great guitars. I would recommend 10 gauge Ernie Ball Regular Slinkeys if you like a fairly thick heavy tone or 9 gauge Super Slinkeys if you like to bend notes alot.

Re: aria pro II
I prefer 10's too, they just seem to work better for a Paul. 9's work fine for me on a Strat, but on a Paul they just feel too thin. My buddy Jimmy plays 12's on his Epi Standard, man it's like piano wire ..... after a couple of songs my caluses have caluses! lol!

Re: aria pro II
Glad to help, I do have a confession though....I replace the stock Epi pickups in my Standards w/ Burst Buckers. They sound alot better. I prefer Fender Heads through Celestion speakers in my cabs too. I really get a great tone that has ALOT of versatility. Cheers eddie007, see ya around!!
