Sid Poole Les Paul
Hi - I have a Sid Poole Les Paul built in about 1999. I have a full spec if anyone is interested - I am trying to put a value on it as they are very rare.
Any ideas - I'll try to get some pictures posted when I figure out how to do it. John |

Re: Sid Poole Les Paul
I have 2 Pooles that I recently bought..
A 94 and a 95 model. INCREDIBLE guitars. Better than any Gibson historic LP in my opinion (although I'm sure there are some great ones out there) and value, hard to say. I paid a fair bit for mine and wouldn't sell the flame one (the 95 one) for anything. It's the best guitar I have played bar none (and I've been through LOTS of nice guitars) Hand built by a true craftsman. Tom Holmes humbuckers on mine, which are the best and these guitars seem very hard to find. The fact that Sid Poole unfortunately died makes getting a new one out of the question, so it's really up to finding a buyer and how much he would pay..Are you selling?? Mine are priceless to me! I haven't had them long and have relegated other guitars without a second thought. Certainly my new Number 1 & 2 guitar... Do you have more pics of yours?? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Sid Poole Les Paul
The top carve on the TSB one looks a little flat. Is it dished at all?

Same carve as Bernie Marsdens 59 apparently... Poole built this at the same time as Marsdens replica and used those dimensions

Re: Sid Poole Les Paul
After Sids death , I was asked to complete the very last ''Sid Poole '' LP type
guitar for Phil Hilborne. The body was finished except for a final sanding and bridge and Tail piece holes. The neck required shaping at the back and a final sanding before assembling neck to body . I applied the finish and did the final assembly and set up.IT can be seen on Phils website. ![]()

Re: Sid Poole Les Paul
Heres a pic of a guitar Sid made in the 90's. Its not a replica but a Les Paul style guitar. Its got Tom Holmes pickups. Its has the most organic sweet sound.
I've also got another PRS type guitar which Sid built me a couple of years later. Sid was a great guy with a wicked sense of humour. As he said to me " All you guitarists care about is the looks"
