Agile v Michael Kelly
Wow... seeing all the beautiful work coming out of Rondo, I am impressed. But the guitars coming out of Michael Kelly look very nice as well.
Has anyone played both the Agiles and the MKs (of similar build levels)? If so, what did you think were the main differences? And IYHO, which was the better guitar? Thanks.

Re: Agile v Michael Kelly
Just do a search on google and just read the reviews. That's what I did with the Agile. I've haven't seen many reviews about MK guitars. But I'm not going say they can't compare to Agile.
This is how I think things work. People started seeing Agiles around.. they took it for another copy cheap Les Paul Copy (when they first were made they had the open book headstock and the horn wasn't stubby). A lot people who knew about guitars has the mind set that they were cheap didnt' really bother with them. Until one of them received a Agile and was surprised to see a the quality. So they go on a forums such of this and responds to all these forums about Agile, MK, and Xaviere's. Or they just post about the NGD and how they were surprised on the over quality. So someone like myself reads that and I purchase a Agile and post the same thing.. Then the ball starts rolling... Agile becomes popular and the prices of the guitars go up! Then the Agile will be have to get guitar. If you know anything about computer the AMD was bashed the same way when it first hit the market.. and so was Kia/Hyundia.

Re: Agile v Michael Kelly
I had an early 2000's Michael Kelly (it was a LP semi-hollow) and it was a GREAT guitar. I was extremely impressed with the playability. It was a pretty guitar, but the binding and what-not were a bit sloppy. Back a few years you could get a MK for like $225 and then never be able to re-sell it. Now, you are luckly to get one for $400. I haven't seen one like mine recently. The issue I have with the MK guitars now is that they are almost TOO pretty. Ie, they have abalone everywhere and quilt-tops on top of flame-maple and binding around the pick-up selectors (same issue I have with the newer Hamers). They just seem like they are trying to give you too much for you money. I don't like playing guitars that are TOO pretty.
Anyway, Agile is a solid guitar as well. I would probably elect a NEW Agile over a Michael Kelly because the body lines more closely resemble a true Les Paul. If you can find an early MK, jump on it.
