Question Ever heard a this...?

my dad has had a les paul copy for around 20 years which he ironically traded for a genuine american fender strat back in 'the day', and i was just wondering whether any of u guys have heard of this name before?

its got a bolt-on with chrome hardware and he's replaced the jack, because after this long, his guitar is just falling apart! but the weird thing is, the headstock is a nearly exact replica to a genuine gibson and i was thinking that it must have been before they patented the design.

anyway the headstock has the logo 'grant' on the headstock in place of Gibson, and just wondering if anyone has heard of this brand and its history if possible.
Im not expecting much, but it would be nice to know a little about it!

thanks in advance guys

Do you mean one of these? They made strat copys as well, and one of my friends has a distortion pedal made by them. The were one of those importers to the UK that used to use far east manufacture and then label and market it regionaly in the UK. They still pop up from time to time.

Re: Ever heard a this...?

Wow thats a surprise to hear about that! so i guess my dad's one isn't the last of them. That looks just like it, except my dad's one is ebony and has chrome hardware, but its nice to see it's not the last one, and i'm amazed at that price, me and my dad thought is was worth next to nothing, but i bet that one is in much better condition.

thanks for the info guys, anyone got anything else?

Re: Ever heard a this...?

This is the only Grant I'm familiar with...similar to your dad's guitar in that it's inexpensive but gets the job done:
