Xaviere XV-500... Which one should I get????

Ok so... As you all prolly know im getting my Second Xaviere soon and I decided to go with another 500 not the 700 and Not only becasue the Ebony is sold out but Iv changed my mind on getting the Ebony finish but now Im stuck between 2 and I need some opinions....

Its between the Tobacco Sunburst or Honeyburst...

If anyone has pics of either please... post them lol and dont post the ones from the site please lol Iv seen them millions of times!!!! haha

I've seen a bunch of the honeyburst ones online; what you see on this site is pretty accurate (bright red and very bright orangish yellow)

I found this one of a Tobacco burst online


I say, though, why have two of the same guitar?! Try something new! I've got an XV-870 as well, and, right now, in the mail, there's an XV-650 heading my way!

Hmm.....I don't know, OP. That's a serious question. I still think you shoulda gotten the thinline.....(but, that's just me...)

well either way thinline or 500 its still between the 2 finishes... I think I like the Tobacco burst better though.... and Well I really like the LP Xavieres I have 2 strat style an Explorer and a Dean Razorback lol Theres nothing really else I want other than another LP lol

Hmmm...Well, if it was me...

I'd get an XV-700 in a honeyburst. TS is OK...but honeyburst really looks killer on a flametop like that. (I actually like TS on a plaintop, but on a flametop? Honeyburst all the way!! )

EDIT: The only reason I mention the XV700....I own 4 Les Paul models myself. I love 'em all, but hindsight 20/20 I probably would have been better off if I sought more variation between the models...(I've modded all of them since purchase, but I still think those thinlines are really cool...)

Is the Honey burst really as dark as it looks on the site though? I mean... Im the kind that likes what not most people have... Hense the attraction to the Natural finish... and I havnt seen any other Tobaccos yet.... which really makes me want it... then again if that honey burst is as dark red as it looks that would look killer..... seems like EVERYONE has the Amber burst so thats def out of the question for me lol

I just noticed purevil got the honey burst and its just not as dark as it looks like on the site... has a real light orangey dark yellow center on the site its more of a darker orange almost light Red... I think I might go with the Tobacco....

yep your right, alot of people look at mine and say, it's not a honey burst, it's more of a cherry, but it is what it is, and i like the look of it., mine is the thinline.

Yeah I mean its not that I dont like it... Its a beautiful guitar like all the Xavieres but its just not my thing...

Yeah...I'll admit it...I dig the Tobacco sunburst a lot!!! (I just love it on a plaintop though...) And after seeing Dan (Horse's) honeyburst, I'm starting to like that a lot in terms of a flametop.

(PS: Are any of the Xavier's plaintops, or are they all flametops?)

It's really bright there in the sun, but with just some more subtle light it looks like a complete different guitar, she's really starting to grow on me, i pick it up more than the epi's, i want to dull the finish on it, get Jonsey to get me his mojo in it, going to put in a Dream 90 in the neck and maybe a PAF in the bridge, i have Twang making me a new trc cuz i hate the one that was on it, and some new tuners one of these days, can't wait to see how that all turns out.

They are all Flamed... I think GFS should start making more variations Including lefty's and different finishes... Alot of people like them and have them so there making money... if they started making more to fit other people Im sure they would expand and bring in new customers!

Yeah...nature of the beast though....and sticking a limited set of models and options probably helps to keep the cost down. (Still...if they ever made a leftie XV 700 or an archtop I'd probably look into either one...)

You shouldn't get the XV 500 or XV 700....

You should get the XV-580......this guitar SMOKES and it may just be the biggest tone monster in the lot!!!

Really?

Anyways...chambered guitars have a nice, bell-like quality to 'em. Mass does not necessarily equivocate tone. I think those are really nice. (But the thinlines are sweet as well! )

I think Im gonna Pick up an Ibanez TBX150H Head and IS412C Cab BEfore I get another guitar But Xaviere's are cheap as dirt so Im not worried about money lol
