General questions about ESP Edwards
I've think I've completed by journey and have decided on getting one of the Edwards model LP and have begun the search here in the U.S. for a place to buy.
As far as I can tell so far, these are only suppose to be 'sold' in Japan. I've found a number of sellers on Ebay listing Edwards. Normally, I wouldn't touch Ebay for a guitar, but may have to in this instance...I think. So, while looking at some of these on Ebay, I ran into something that has me puzzled. This may simply be showing my LP ignorance, so please don't laugh if that's the case....at least too hard. Take a look at this image of what is supposedly a mint/new Edwards LP: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...4/DSC_0392.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...4/DSC_0405.jpg There are other places as well with what look to be aged or distressed sections. Is this simply an attempt to mimic an aged LP or something...or what??? Also, if anyone has any comments in regards to where to buy an Edwards, I'd love to hear! |

Ishibashi. All dealing is done by emails, just use the site to browse. Not sure, not all models are listed. google "ishibashi english". You should find it pretty easy. If you're really ready to order, shoot 'em an email. They've only got a coupla people there that can do business in english, so be considerate and try not to waste their time, they are very competent. And don't expect instant responses when you send 'em an email, they will get back to you, may take a day or two when you send them the first email. Number 1 drawback with Ishibashi = can't see what you're buying, they order it and send it out, sometimes very, very quickly. Even after they say it may be a month wait. ebay sellers? mijsixstringkatana on ebay (katana) has a proven track record. As does yasoohmusic1109. I've read some have had great results with apollo-saty2004, also. It's nice to see what you're buying. They're are other sellers, but these three have sold quite a few guitars, check their feedbacks to feel comfortable. Don't buy from the Australia dude (selfself I think), he's way overpriced. Edwards lineup: E-LP-92 - Lowest model, gloss finish, usually no p-guard, "Edwards" in in white, comes in standard (SD) and custom (CD) models. SD 1 & 4 E-LP-98 - Their main model, has "lacquer" top coat over gloss, "Edwards" is in gold, comes in standard (LTS) and custom (LTC). SD 1 & 4 E-LP112 (124?) Relic - thats the Jimmy Page model, better wood, all lacquer, doesn't have the better pots and switch tho. SD 1 & 5 E-LP130 Relic - So far, this is their best LP. Comes "reliced" which is so-so, but great wood, lacquer, SD Antiquities, and top-notch pots and switch. and all of 'em have a veneer top over a decent thickness maple cap. So far they've all been one piece body, one piece neck. Unfortunately, you've got to spend extra for a HC. There's quite a few other models, but this is the LP selection in a nutshell. I bought a used one, early E-LP-90LTS, from some serviceman in Japan (ebay of course). Mine needs a fret leveling, but for $600USD, it kills just they way it is. I suppose you've read the Harmony Central "reviews"? No one has really disliked Edwards yet. Some say the wood isn't seasoned enough. Mines incredible, stays in tune very well. Good luck!

tonebone: thanx for clearing that up. That makes perfect sense now. Also, thanx for the model break-down info. I'm actually looking for the 98LTS. Good to know that there are some trust'able EBay sources to get these!
tonepot: thanx for that link. I'll start digging in there for further info. |

ck42, better grab that 98-LTS before they get too expensive. I saw one on Katanas E-bay site for a pretty good buy-it-now price. |

Re: General questions about ESP Edwards
CK, I have an Edwards John Sykes replica. It's a great guitar. My bother has a Schenker Flying V. That's also great.
