New Gear Day(s)!
It's been a while, and I tend not to post up NGD threads or anything like that, so I figured I'd wait until a few accumulated and do it up all at once!
First, about a month ago, I received my custom built LP Jr. from a forumite. I'm posting a headstock pic so I will let him decide if he wants to be named on this one. ![]() ![]() Second...and this one happened today... After 7 years, 200 or so shows without being babied, and countless practices, my Kustom 1x15 combo finally took a shit on me. It was never a top flight amp, but I needed something that could kick stage volume and I needed it fast. I have to say, for what I paid for it, and what I expected out of it, it performed admirably, but in the end, it just wasn't worth dropping the $$$ to get it fixed. So, today I found a nice used Peavey 700 watter and 410 cab. Leu just got louder.

Re: New Gear Day(s)!
Thanks man! I had no idea I was in love with TV Yellow until about a year ago. Now I'm a junkie!

Re: New Gear Day(s)!
really warming up to the look on the jrs.....at first I wasn't feeling them.
the tv yellow looks cool as well (also starting to warm up to the more odd colors that I never used to like) and the tortoise shell pick guard looks sweet. Just got this a couple days back. (1996 Fender 50th Anniversary Stratocaster 60's Reissue RI MIJ) ![]() would have never imagined in a million years I'd own a pink guitar (shell pink)....I love it and it feels like I stepped into a time machine playing it...it's got a great 60's feel. but I see myself getting something in tv yellow for sure at some point here. ![]() congrats man!

Thanks BiB, that strat is killer! If anybody gives you guff just say "F-You, it's salmon"
![]() Yeah, it took me a while to get on the Junior wagon, but a few respected guitarist friends of mine swear by them, I've really taken a liking over the last 2 years.

Re: New Gear Day(s)!
that cabinet is bad ass too. just came back to say that.
yeah the pink isn't so pink in person...it's almost a weird peach/pink thing. It looks old in person too...the guitar has some decent dings on it which add to that feel for me. I feel like I have an old guitar from that era....they did a great job with the neck and just weight and hardware...played it for about an hour and half last night and was in heaven. so you play bass in your band and the guitar also.. I did that for a while also...through high school and 1 year out...I'd play bass because I could always get into the best bands that way. then my ego got too big and I had to sing (and play guitar) ![]() hahahaha

Re: New Gear Day(s)!
Yeah, I'm a guitarist first and foremost (in my mind) but bass is what gets me gigs. I compromised, I play bass and sing about a handful of the tunes. I don't have the drive to be a true front man. I could do it, but I have a great relationship with the singer and we've done a lot of cool stuff in the last 8 years. Plus, I don't play bass like most bass players, so even if I did switch over and we became a two guitar band it would change the entire dynamic of what we've got going.
