NGD- Bacchus BLP-STD LD........
Pictures to come....
Initial thoughts : The neck ain't that big, nowhere near a VOS JR or R8. The neck pickup is great, the bridge seems generic. Frets are slim and tall, but it doesn't take any getting used to. For a plaintop it's got some character. Plays great right out the box Weighs 9.6lbs Nice gigbag.

They coming! They coming!!!!!!
I'm thinking either a Dimarzio AT-1 or Airzone for the bridge, probably double whites.

Re: NGD- Bacchus BLP-STD LD........
The neck pickup is fine, but the bridge has a jack of all trades master of none quality to it.

Re: NGD- Bacchus BLP-STD LD........
I just realized what I don't like about the pickups.....
They give the guitar a sterile PRS quality, not ballzy like a LP,they sound good ,but very vanilla.

Re: NGD- Bacchus BLP-STD LD........
I hear you Jeggz. I loved the Bacchus Classic I had in terms of feel and looks, the pickups just left me cold. Rather than mod it, I moved it on to someone else. I would definitely look at getting another at some point (maybe one of the FM models) if I was in the market but I'm pretty sure the pickups would immediately get the boot. Not bad per se, just really blah sounding to my ear.

I've tried all kinds of pickups and I still hold my Wizz PAFs up as the best current set of humbuckers I have ever heard in a Les Paul. Alex just works his magic and they always sound fresh to my ears. Well worth the price they command (and they are really worth more than that!). Sheptone makes some nice models too, I really like those too. Manlius does some nice ones too. But I think the Wizz PAFs are the cats meow and would sound really nice in the Bacchus (due to it's similarity to the LS-80 in terms of construction). |

My experience:
Best production pups: Seths or Dimarzio 36th's Custom Wounds: Sheps, Manlius, Zhangbuckers, & Mojotone's (you can choose EVERYTHING [magnets, wiring, covers, field charged or not, machine or hand wound, bobbin colours, etc] with Mojotone for a flat rate and they are kick ass!) |

Seth Lovers are a great production pickup. Haven't owned Zhangs or Mojotones but love the clips of both.
Here's a great review of the Wizz PAFs done by a forum member with nice sound clips. WIZZ pickups review!!!!! |

After spending some time with the originals, I swapped them out for a set of SD Alnico 2 Pro. Just had them lying around. They are warmer and has a bit more character, especially on the bridge. But that's just me... I may try something else (Seths maybe) in the future. The original Bacchus pups are now in my Greco LP Custom and they sound pretty good there... Go figure... Last night, I was messing about with it and I was able to dial in Led Zep's Good Times Bad Times tone thru my little Fender Champ clone. I was a happy man...
