Is the japan axe forum still going?
Twice now i've tried to sign up the the Japan Axe forum, both times without success..get through the registration process but never seem able to get any further...never get reply emails..Is that site still up and running.
I'm trying to get some info on a vintage fernandes RTE-80 tele I bought some time ago and thought that site might be the best option....I'm not sure if the telecaster forum has any sub sections dealing with made in japan guitars like this forum does.... If anyone on this site is all wise in repsect of those early Fernandes tele's please let me know...cheers |

Looks like it's still up, to me.

Re: Is the japan axe forum still going?
I remember being on that forum when it first started. It was pretty funny. They had like 20 active posters and 10 of them were Japan guitar dealers pretending not to be.

Villager (Mark) and golfredo who's also lurking around here are founder members ... and later on 1 or two Japanese residents were there ... So - a profound knowledge I think ... what could be wrong with that? @ Greg Don't know whether you're "banned for life" ... but that's all water under the bridge now. You seem to be happy being here ... that's OK for me.

Re: Is the japan axe forum still going?
Only 2 kinds of people on MIJ forums. Those that sell/flip guitars for profit and those that don't. The "hobbyist" is on a forum to ask questions and learn about guitars. He may from time to time sell a guitar. The vendor derives all or part of his income from selling guitars to the hobbyists. Both of the people in the above post are vendors or dealers if you prefer. They may be the nicest people in the world, and Golfredo is a nice guy. But they are still vendors. And their reason for being on all the forums is different from the hobbyist.

Re: Is the japan axe forum still going?
You mean the same 5 photo essays and posts over and over are not helpful?
The odd conspiracy post breaks up the monotony of guitar chats however. Well at least they are consistent, I will give em that! |

Hey now!!! I'm being self deprecating. You've just reminded me though I haven't taken any photos of my gold tops yet. Had them for ages but yet to get a group shot together

all vendors/dealers are evil and only lurk around forums looking for innocent hobbyists to lure into their den of MIJ iniquity, GAS, divorce, and eventually a sad lonely death surrounded by only guitars.. oh and for the love of shared knowledge of course.. |

Re: Is the japan axe forum still going?
and the fairies..
the tale of the unicorns hunted to the edge of extinction by the chinese guitar fakers for the inlays from their horns, and the the fairies set up a selective breeding program to get unicorns without horns, nonocorns they were called, all the chinese guitar fakers went out of business and everybody was happy, |
