I Must be Missing Something

I was thumbing and bumming thru Ebay's MIJ and Heritage Guitar for sale sections ( yea, bored to tears) and I was shocked. I really believe some people have no idea what they have in 2 ways. Either they are Over the Moon High or sometimes but very rarely underpriced. The Tokai's listed there are unreal high and The Heritages have gone sky high with the fear of kalamazoo closing (which is untrue but I saw one Tokai LS 165 the same I sold, the seller is asking $2200 plus. I should have waited. Heritage H-140's listed at 14 to $1500. I really should have waited. I don't know but I need a loan to buy one of these models from there.

Re: I Must be Missing Something

Frank,

Selling guitars is like fishing; put the bait out there & it only takes one f***ing fish to bite & run off with it

IMO guitar pricing is all very subjective

take for example a very rare guitar I sold many years ago & was recently offered to repurchase; I sold it for over twice the price that I paid for it originally & the buyer was completely happy with the guitar.

I have now paid basically what that buyer paid for it when he bought it from me; why?
Because IMO the guitar is worth it.
It may not be worth that price point to anyone else & that is OK but IMO locating another example with the particular attributes it has will be next to impossible.
I will be happy to have this one back, even tho' I had to pay for it what I sold it for.

I have certain guitars that others have played & some of these I have been offered 2 to 3 times what I paid for them, even tho' they are not for sale & I have not even tried to sale them.

many people do not understand, or comprehend that guitars & the market for guitars can be a very emotional, and conversely can also be a very erratic market AFA price point is concerned.
many people only believe that certain price levels are going to prevail, which is pure BS ..........

It is all very convoluted & subjective, and for me, that is OK ........................
