Re: DO ya pull the trigger? EG-2500 ?

Considering there are "finish" cracks at the headstock/neck?

Not completely original?

Multi-piece back?

I would get a replica built, personally.

Re: DO ya pull the trigger? EG-2500 ?

Got to ask why Greco did that.
Unbelievable top but multi piece back. For that kind of $$ you would expect a very nice 1 piece back too.

Re: DO ya pull the trigger? EG-2500 ?

You have to remember these were probably priced under $1000 USD new,
with JPY - USD exchange rates in 1979.
But I do agree it is a Greco shortcoming, with Tokai offering 1 piece backs from LS-80 models and up.

Beautiful top, but I'd say save the cash for an old Tokai or two.

Re: DO ya pull the trigger? EG-2500 ?

That is the same one that was up 2 years ago.
I have loads of photos of it from the last time...incl various cavity shots etc.
Last time it was listed as a 1200 Limited solid top and I think it sold for 180K from what I recall, Mark tried for it too.
I have seen these Limited's in gold tops too...lost out on one a few years back for 30K.

Oh yeah....I didn't see that in the pictures. I didn't look to hard either mind you

Big difference in the amount of detail from your pictures and the newer ones Udo...

Not a lot to go by here.

Do you remember how much it sold for last time?

For $4500 + shipping you could have a killer R9 or even a handmade MCI burst made from old wood and correct hardware.

A tad too rich an asking price imo. Definatelyy a sweet top. If
it was loaded with primo replica/original hardware and real PAFs.... maybe.
