Need a little help

Picked up a old greco from a old family friend for practically nothing. Its in pretty bad shape but I wanted to refinish it.When I removed the truss rod cover I could tell that I was missing things..lol. What exactly is what im missing called and is it something I could fix myself?

Thanks in advanced.

Is there something that goes under the nut..lol In comparison to another mij LP I noticed that there is a steel fitting between the nut and the neck?

Re: Need a little help

There's a washer there...Make sure that it's heavy enough to take the strain of the nut though.

Stewmac may have one....

And make sure you pick up a metric threaded truss rod nut.

Re: Need a little help

Any washer will do the trick...pack up the guitar and take it to the hardware store with you

Re: Need a little help

After you try Home Depot, go to a full blown "old school" hardware store. One thats got a huge supply of oddball nuts and bolts. I doubt you find anything useful at Home Depot, but you might.

Ace Hardware's might have it.

Maybe automotive.

Re: Need a little help

I'll see if I can find one here somewhere if you strike out on the nut. It is nice to have a brass one I guess.
