Post Bridge help- Agile Al-3000

Hey guys,
I scooped up an Agile AL-3000 for 30 bucks because it needed restoration work including paint and everything else... the works. But hey, a set neck paul for 30 bucks.

When I went to sand the body to prep for primer, I gouged the wood removing the old bridge studs. Now, I have my graphtech nvs posts that I am trying to put in but they seem to be kinda squirrely. a little crooked and all that GREAT stuff. The tailpiece still wraps around and meets both posts.

I guess what I want to know is have I ruined all of my hard work or can I monkey around with the intonation saddles and the other bridge adjustments and get away with it?

Thanks

Photos paint a better picture Strat. It's much easier to help if we can see what you are talking about.

Re: Bridge help- Agile Al-3000

Sorry, haha my bad. I think it could go away if I tapped it all the way in as I'm just letting it slide in because I'm not ready to leave the studs yet because I have to paint still. Once I figure out how to post pics ill throw them up

Looks to me like they'll straighten out when tapped all the way in.

I hope so, but if it doesn't do you think it will hurt playability?

Looks like that to me too. Do you use heavy strings? I know someone with a PRS who had his posts pulled out a few times. He uses 12s.

Re: Bridge help- Agile Al-3000

I use 10's I'm afraid they wont straighten out because there's wiggle room in the post hole so I'm afraid when I made a mess taking the origional studs out, I ruined the hole

Re: Bridge help- Agile Al-3000

shouldn't you be able to plug the hole, glue it in tight, sand it down nicely and re-drill for the post as needed? You've said you haven't started painting it yet. A solid fill job should do the deed I would think.

What do you suggest I would use for that? I'd think wood filler but I don't think that would bond well enough?

Re: Bridge help- Agile Al-3000

It will straighten out as you tap it in. I've learned not to force it, instead put a little liquid soap on it and it will slide right in. I would go ahead and put the insert in and tape it off to paint. Otherwise you may fill the hole with paint and then really have a hard time getting the inserts in. You can plug the insert with cotton to keep paint out of the threads.
