Re: the first few days with my first MIJ & my impressions
i too was bit by the MIJ bug. amazing how these guitars blow away pretty much everything that's coming out of Gibson USA for about half the cost. i'm really enjoying my Edwards. and yes i will buy another one, maybe a bacchus or burny, not sure yet. one things for sure i'm never touching gibson again.

Good to hear brother,I'm hooked as well. I will never buy a Gibson when I could get 3-4 burny's at that pricepoint

Re: the first few days with my first MIJ & my impressions
Deeno, you might want to think about getting a nice early 80's Greco for comparison (a nice '82 Custom would rock). Burny's are amazing but not the only gig in town. Tokai made some nice Customs in the early 80's as well.

The early Tokais are the bomb.

Re: the first few days with my first MIJ & my impressions
Can anyone give me a rough idea of what the pickups are in this? I'm not in a position where I want to pull them right now. I'm guessing this model is too early for the Vh1's?

That would be the LC-100.. I've only seen them in catalog's. Kind of the Yedi of MIJ Customs. Good luck finding one.

Re: the first few days with my first MIJ & my impressions
I would like more authentic Randy sounding pickups. Unfortunately Gibson isn't selling the super 74's...... LAME. Any suggestions? I was think some high output fralins or vintage Gibson PAF's

Re: the first few days with my first MIJ & my impressions
This fellow NY'er makes some pretty sweet pickups from what I hear, at very reasonable prices.

Maybe you should work your way thru the different coloured burnys
![]() A nice blue early 80's one on YJ at the moment, only 21K ($262) with 16 hours to go, can't see it going too much higher. ■■BURNY■レスポールカスタム セットネック■■ - Yahoo!オークション
